Job Purpose:
The Subsurface and Wells (SSW) team drives quality and efficiency by integrating expertise from Excellence team and skills from Operations team.
The current team consists of 140 staff based in Chennai (India) and Krakow who is qualified in Petroleum Engineering and Geosciences with Data Management capabilities. Teams are partnering with Technical Data Management community in Europe and US.
Job Accountabilities:

Front end loading of seismic data

Analyzing and processed and raw data
-
Provide quality control, cataloguing, recovery and preservation of data
-
Operational base load support: managing subsurface and well data (well data, well logs and well documents; core data; seismic data (tapes and processed data) to and within corporate and project databases

Responding to the SubSurface & Wells data team / end-user requests e.g. resolving data quality issues through proactive daily monitoring of IQM queries, reactive identification of data issues or provision of data sets to the government

Participation in the elements of Data Projects

Measuring and reporting data quality/Technical standards management
Requirements:
-
University degree in Geophysics/ Geology with specialization in Upstream/Oil & Gas

Experience at least 4 years of relevant industrial experience and Relevant academic & Project experience in a similar role/organization

Knowledge of linux desirable

Ability to efficiently and accurately manipulate data for loading to applications
-
Understanding of the seismic data lifecycle to include acquisition methodologies, processing workflows and basic interpretation workflows

Understanding of different seismic data types
-
Knowledge of coordinate reference systems and their importance in proper data positioning

Previous experience managing data in OpenWorks and/or Petrel desirable

Previous experience with scripting languages like Pyhton, Matlab, R or bash scripting desirable

Excellent English skills (written & oral)

Behavioral Competences: Very Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a virtual team environment across multiple time zones to accomplish operational excellence and required data quality objectives.
