Job Purpose: The Cognos Report Writer is responsible for addressing the informational needs of Management Reporting.
This includes
•Clarify report requirements
•Design report solution(s) via Cognos report writing skills
•Verify data integrity
•Coordinate user acceptance testing.
•Understand how different data elements interact with various tool data sources
Key Responsibilities:
•Develop complex reports through use of Cognos queries and architecture
•Collaborate with Business Analysts to ensure all business requirements are identified prior to solutioning
•Maintain report library and identify enhancements to existing reports; deliver solution
•Automate reporting processes to improve efficiency of organization
•Accountable to support Resource Management tools (Utilization Database). Manage recurring process to update PM inventory and utilization in support of ensuring proper resourcing of project workload. Produce weekly/monthly metrics and reporting
•Complete all tasks in connection with the organization’s activity but not detailed in current job description charged by the direct manager supervisor or the functional head
Knowledge/Experience:
•Knowledge of Cognos v.11
•Expertise with development in Report Studio
•Knowledge of SQL – Helpful
•Knowledge of PlanView – Helpful
•Experience in a multinational business organization including interaction with global teams and cross regional processes.
•Experience of working in virtual teams working remotely or for a remote manager is an advantage
•Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
