Citi has undertaken multiple initiatives to redefine and redesign Wholesale Credit Risk processes. Policies, processes, data and technology are going to be key pillars of this redesign. This role is a new role created to support data and technology work streams. This role will report to the unit head and will be one of the two supervisors.
Key Responsibilities:
Management responsibilities
- Help set-up Wholesale Credit Risk Data Reconciliation and Controls Unit in Poland
- Help in the recruitment process and identify high quality individuals for the team
- Develop an effective team structure with clear roles and responsibilities
- Manage and motivate a team of 5 to 6 people
- Develop a strong knowledge base within the team of known Banking Book and Trading Book data quality issues
- Provide regular status updates to senior management
Functional Responsibilities
- Partner with key members of ICG Risk, Data Services, Technology, Risk Governance to develop a cohesive data quality remediation strategy
- Set-up processes to identify differences between various Credit Risk exposure management systems (Optima, C900 and PBR), perform root cause analysis, issue identification and resolution
- Develop metrics to track incoming data feeds non-compliance with SLA & copy-overs, work on improving metrics
- Institute a process to analyse production system defects and develop plan to remediate recurring issues
- Develop tools and methods to identify instances of data defaults and modification within risk systems. Develop action plans to reduce data modifications
- Develop various proactive tools, as examples, variance & trend analysis, to identify data defects and develop plan to remediate them
- Compare usage of reference data and services across 1st and 2nd line for consistency and improvements in risk data and calculations
- Work closely with the onshore/NY leads and technology to log remediation projects for all newly identified defects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree, with distinguished academic achievement
- A total of around 7 year experience with good understanding of Credit Risk and Data Management
- Experience of running technology projects
- Prior experience of managing teams
- Experience of setting up a new unit will be preferable
- Broad understanding of current regulatory environment as applicable to Credit Risk
- Superior communication and Influencing skills
- Analytical individual with ability to model data and draw conclusions
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities with demonstrated experience in executing against tight deadlines and managing issue escalation
- Ability to move between the detail and the strategic, providing quality content at both
