The Tax team is responsible for the maintenance and updating of the withholding tax tables within the MultiFonds Fund Accounting system. In addition the team monitor our client’s obligations towards any 871M tax liability.
The Tax Team perform a periodic review of the withholding tax tables by reconciling them against the clients Custodian records. Any differences are investigated and if required updates are made to the tax tables.
The Tax team cooperate closely with other teams within Citi both locally and from different geographic locations to provide high quality service to our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Perform periodic review and reconciliation of the withholding tax tables;
- Perform daily analysis of our clients 871M tax liabilities;
- Create new Tax regimes within the MultiFonds accounting system where required;
- Liaise and provide support to internal Citi teams in relation to tax queries;
- Investigate and respond to tax related queries;
- Observe and review market updates relating to tax that may impact our clients;
- Provide requested tax reporting to internal/external stakeholders;
- Adhere to all Departmental Procedures and Controls;
- Identifying and reporting of any gaps within the process and implementation of solutions to eliminate these gaps;
- Foster strong working relationships with internal/external stakeholders;
- Ensure high quality of service is continually delivered by the team;
- Challenge the status quo, display initiative and innovation;
- Ensure all procedures are periodically reviewed and updated in accordance with the agreed schedule;
- Ensure all issues / potential issues are escalated to Management in a timely manner;
- Encourage a positive and professional working environment;
- Ensure all mandatory trainings are completed within the designated time;
- Process additional business oriented tasks as requested by your manager;
- Participate in the training of new employees;
- Performing control functions for tasks being completed by junior members of the team;
- Timely answering to standard and non-standard queries related to duties performed, adhering to a high standards of business correspondence;
- Participation in the preparations for internal and external audits.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years experience within Financial Services;
- An excellent understanding of Financial Operations;
- Previous experience within a tax related function will be highly regarded;
- Excellent knowledge of English (spoken and written).
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
