External Relations (ER) Krakow was created in 2019 to provide communications, public affairs and business advice support to Shell’s global businesses, country and corporate teams that work to strengthen Shell’s brand, the company’s reputation and its license to operate and grow.

We are looking for a new team member that is interested in social politics, psychology and communication, you will support the ER team in responding to business requests across sustainability, safety and the energy transition, related topics and the coordination and delivery of networks, briefing materials, training, insights, tools for the team.

You are also going to:

• Provide direct support to the Sustainability, Transparency and Reports team; namely to (a) execute the human rights data assurance questionnaire, (b) map external reporting requirements with Sustainability Report topics and support the content materiality process and (d) check facts and audit trails for the Reports

• Provide ER with support in stakeholder analysis and communications approaches that strengthen the overall positioning of the company on the topics of sustainability, safety and energy transition (and respond to the challenges and opportunities along the way)

• Improve and deliver the Reputation Book (bringing alignment with other briefing books)

• Provide forward scanning for content opportunities, engagements and conferences and provide stakeholder and audience analysis support as required

• Coordinate the reputation planning cycle (working with Content Advisers/Business Partners in Krakow) and support the development of the corporate reputation plan.

• To review, update and improve the ER Portal.

• Coordinate professional networks and training on Reputation Management, Risk, Stakeholder Management with a view to improving uptake across External Relations.

Requirements:

We are looking for strategic, creative and collaborative candidates with experience in public affairs and corporate communications to join Shell’s External Relations Corporate team and help shape the way the company shows up as it transforms over the coming years.

Ideally, we seek people with an eye for detail, who can collect evidence and data to support their ideas and make improvements.

The successful candidate will be quick to learn the complex business and an active self-starter. We’re ultimately looking for a corporate communications enthusiast; someone who can adapt to the many needs placed on a strong corporate communications team.

Being able to develop strong, trusted relationships with colleagues across Shell in both business and country roles is crucial for the success of this role.

Key ER competencies for the role include:

• Perfect written and spoken English min C1.

• Business partnering, media relations, stakeholder management and non-technical risk integration.

• ​The successful candidate needs to be inquisitive, analytical, have a high attention to detail and be happy to provide challenge where she/he identifies opportunities for improvement/optimisation.
