Who we are looking for

We are seeking a Senior Market Data Sourcing Specialist to respond to index and data requests company-wide to acquire the products and services that help drive the Market Data Procurement strategy, transformation initiatives, and implementation plans.

Why this role is important to us

The Officer of Procurement is an important role within State Street’s Global Procurement Team and is responsible for the preparation, analysis, negotiation and finalization of the end-to-end Procurement process for Market Data related contracts, with a focus on client and portfolio management index requests and fulfillment. This role will collaborate with stakeholders (Portfolio Managers, Analysts, Relationship Managers, Legal, Data Security business units or vendors.) to fulfill requests and lead negotiations to mitigate risk, achieve favorable compliant contract pricing and terms within an expedited time-frame. The end result is a contract that accurately reflects business requirements while protecting State Street’s interests and controlling costs.

What you will be responsible for

As Senior Sourcing Specialist– Market Data Services you will

  • Perform direct contractual and commercial negotiations and manage sometimes large and complex agreements

  • Solution requests and issues timely, and perform daily problem solving

  • Find saving opportunities via stakeholder engagement and data analysis

  • Identify risks and opportunities related to achieving financial objectives; work with process partners to mitigate risks and realize opportunities

  • Use a white glove approach in stakeholder management to provide advice and guidance within market data sourcing

  • Perform all duties in accordance with prescribed regulatory compliance guidelines

  • Quickly learn the State Street end to end process, and work within the guidelines to gain saving and delivery result

What we value

  • Knowledge of the major index vendors and index construction

  • Demonstrated sourcing and negotiation experience with major suppliers

  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate governing agreements

  • A good understanding of market data pricing models, metrics, etc. with the ability to suggest contracting alternatives

  • 5+ years of experience in a procurement related position preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and follow-through on multiple projects simultaneously

  • A high level of understanding of the language and structure of market data contracts

  • Experience in the review, negotiation and drafting of market data contracts

  • Ability to manage challenging stakeholders diplomatically.

  • Exceptional communication skills and relationship management capabilities.

  • Procurement, market data and business knowledge including robust understanding of contract terms and contract execution

  • Team player with the ability to build long term relationships

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with customer focus

  • Ability to make decisions and execute with support of stakeholders

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Excellent command of the English language

  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office package
