Purpose of Role:
Platform Engineering team is responsible for Storage, Virtualization, Backups, OS platforms (Windows & Linux/AIX), Private & Public (AWS) Cloud workloads for Amway entities across the world.
What you’ll do:
- Designs hardware, operating system and associated software systems to satisfy business requirements; often requires interacting with application development teams
- Maintains, installs, optimizes and troubleshoots IT hardware and software; includes capacity planning, upgrade and replacement of existing systems, as necessary, to avoid obsolescence or non-support situations
- Designs, implements and tests disaster recovery procedures for all managed systems
- Implements & maintains systems to satisfy business performance, functionality and security requirements
- Provide 3rd line of support for owned technologies
What you’ll need:
- BS or MS in Computer Engineering or a related technical discipline
- 5+ years of industry experience in the development and analysis of storage systems
- Experienced in complex, multi-subsystem system-level troubleshooting, including hands-on experience with system performance and capacity planning
- EMC Storage Systems hands-on experience. Incl. midrange & enterprise solutions (XIO / PowerMax)
- Vast knowledge about backup systems design & administration (Commvault solution preferred)
- NAS / SAN infrastructure experience in terms of architecture and configuration
Nice to have:
- Public Cloud experience, AWS preferable
- NetApp FAS/AFF hands-on experience
- Knowledge of the Veeam backup solution will be a plus
- Server Hardware – any enterprise hardware platform, preferable Dell or Cisco UCS B-series/C-series, with experience in implementing the solution from the scratch
Soft skills:
- Very strong communications skills and English skills (min. B2 level)
- Capable of leading and supporting technical or business projects independently
- Able to make decisions by his/her own based on knowledge and experience
- Flexible, service-oriented, well-motivated team player
