Your role

We’re looking for a Front-End Development Lead to:

• drive the development of a new set of platform capabilities in the ‘Digital Core’ that will enable real time processing, analytics and structured workflow
• lead engineering and implementation of UI/UX best practices and tools
• be a line manager for frontend engineers
• promote best UI/UX practices with development teams & continuously look to innovate
• lead the front-end development of the application, based on modern UI design practices
• bring new technologies to improve maintainability, performance, and user experience of the UI
• collaborate with the rest of the solution development team to provide better integration of different layers of the application
• interact consistently with key stakeholders in Operations in cross-functional teams (hybrid pods) to ensure we are delivering the right thing
• contribute to skill aligned chapter constructs working across the Digital Operations platform to ensure we build solutions in the right way
• conduct code reviews and test software as needed, along with participating in application architecture and design and other phases of SDLC

Your team

You’ll be working as part of the Operations IT Technology team in the Investment Bank. You will be part of a highly motivated and talented group where innovation in not only encouraged but expected! Working closely with the stakeholders to develop best in class solutions alongside cross-team collaboration with like-minded experts is the UBS definition of the new normal.

Your expertise

• experience in Frontend Development
• experience as an engineering manager (will lead small team)
• proficiency with JavaScript (ES6)
• proficiency with React / Redux (all development is in React)
• familiarity with TypeScript
• experience with CSS preprocessors (LESS/ SASS)
• software design skills, knowledge of design patterns applicable to JavaScript
• familiarity with REST API / WebSocket
• familiarity with CI / CD (TeamCity / Jenkins), Git / GitHub
• ability to work in Agile based SDLC
