Do you value partnership? Are you solid as a rock when juggling multiple projects? Are you an expert negotiator and enjoy problem solving? We’re looking for a highly motivated Commercial Manager to join our Category and Supplier Management team.
The Commercial Manager (‘CM’) is responsible for developing and executing Go-to-Market / Deal strategies and commercial principles by structuring market leading transactions for the Bank. The CM operates predominantly in the pre-contract award phase and provides advisory or guidance in post-contract award phase. They are actively leading the structuring of complex deals and members of the cross-functional teams. The categories in scope include but are not limited to: Hardware, Software, Professional Services. Person will also lead a team of Pre and Post Contract Management specialists that are responsible for similar activities but also manage end to end post-contract award phase of Banks biggest IT engagements.
Key responsibilities:
– Act as a trusted advisor with all internal business partners and a strong emphasis on concise and accurate communication, both written and verbal
– Lead, motivate and coach a team of highly skilled individuals that are providing commercial services to multiple areas of the CDIO organization.
– Manage complex transactions that are a critical and material element of the category strategy, business strategy, transformation, innovation, JV's, Commercialization or outcome based deals.
– Manage and facilitate elements of complex deals such as: RFx structure, Base Case, Business Case, Commercialisation Model, Solution / Proposal Evaluation, Transition, Transformation, & Termination Planning, Deal structuring and Execution
– Participate in negotiations of terms and conditions, statement of work, service level management, financial provisions and pricing, HR, Transition, and Transformation contractual elements.
– Guide stakeholders in the development of requirements including statement of work, service levels, and financial provisions
– Leverage leading-edge industry best practice to advance IT vendor, sourcing, and commercial strategy
– Define commercial constructs to motivate vendor behaviors that are aligned to UBS Strategy and Goals

You will report directly to the head of category and supplier management IT. Category and supplier management team is part of the Supply Chain organization, a function in Group Corporate Services (GCS). Supply Chain was created to enhance value identification and delivery within GCS, supporting UBS with its third-party vendor management. Supply Chain was created to enhance value identification and delivery within GCS, supporting UBS with its third party vendor management as well as with its Real Estate and Outsourcing footprint. Supply Chain provides four services: Category & Supplier Management, Regional Procurement, Vendor Risk Management and MDS Governance; and includes a Commercial Support & Transformation and Training Communication & Procurement Policy Compliance team.
Your expertise
You have:
– Experience of working with large IT service providers and vendors (8+ years)
– Expert in deal negotiations for large and complex services
– Experience in Managing contract management and commercial teams
– Excellent stakeholder management skills
– Collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with staff from a diverse mix of backgrounds and cultures
– Experience in working in global financial organizations is desirable
– Knowledge and experience of outsourcing methodologies, contracts and commercial models
– Can negotiate at both a detailed level and a broader executive management level
