Job Description

Philips is a global leader in health technology, committed to improving billions of lives worldwide and striving to make the world healthier and more sustainable through innovation. Driven by the vision of a better tomorrow.

But it’s not just what we do, it’s who we are. We are 80,000, wonderfully unique individuals, with two things in common. An unwavering sense of purpose and a relentless determination to deliver on our customers’ needs. It’s what inspires us to create meaningful solutions – the kind that make a real difference – when it matters most.

The world and our customers’ needs are changing faster than ever before and while we are proud of what we do already, we know we can do more. That’s why we need you, to help us tackle increasingly complex challenges posed by ever evolving health and well-being needs.

In this role, you have the opportunity to make life better

You will manage key internal senior stakeholders of our Spend Management organization and establish good relationship with them to enable joint strategy creation and execution. We’ve redefined the way we handle procurement for Indirect Materials and Services, and we would like you to be part of it and lead our efforts through orchestrating indirect spend end-to-end together with all stakeholders involved, and a key focus on effective collaboration with the respective Heads of Finance.

You are responsible for

Managing indirect spend of our commercial Markets within EMEA (7 Markets in Western Europe, Central Eastern Europe and Russia, Middle East Africa and Turkey) together with the key stakeholders. You are the single point of contact for the assigned Markets on all Spend Management related topics. You act as a voice of the stakeholder within Spend Management and vice versa. You provide input to co-create, improve and deploy the cost category strategies.

As a leader you will build a high-performance team culture to adopt innovation and encourage others through your behavior: being open, courageous, inclusive and committed to the Philips Business Systems and values.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Enable productivity programs based on aligned targets, strategies and joint program execution

  • Establish a collaborative culture related to Spend Management, within the team and with stakeholders from the Markets

  • Drive joint and structured spend performance management with the Markets’ Heads of Finance (e.g. 500M)

  • Co-develop our value propositions by gaining insights, needs and requirements of stakeholders from EMEA Markets and their local functions e.g. Marketing, HR, Legal, Real Estate

  • Develop and drive productive and long-term relation with stakeholders to maximize the value (top- and bottom line) of the short & long term business opportunities

  • Ensure that the stakeholder objectives and requirements are well understood by all relevant Spend Management functions and vice versa

  • Secure and enable timely reporting, maintain the reviews calendar, prepare content for the reviews as well contribute towards Review Cadence 2.0

  • Drive improvement initiatives together with other teams in Spend Management, to simplify the processes, ways of working and cross-teams collaboration

  • Funnel management: align and orchestrate the productivity funnel with all stakeholders

  • Drive value realization, and funnel execution on the assigned Markets level

  • Analyze and evaluate trends, spend patterns, performance levels, risks and opportunities for Markets in scope

  • One Stop Spend Management: act as a Spend Management ambassador & “Caretaker” of our key stakeholders

You are a part of

The Spend Management organization within the Integrated Supply Chain (ISC). Spend Management covers the procurement activities of all indirect (non-product related) materials and services within Philips covering such areas as marketing, IT, facility management and travel, real estate, logistics etc.

As we spend approximately €5 billion annually on indirect services and products, this organization plays a key role to achieve Philips’ KPIs. A Spend Management transformation has been started in 2021 to ensure that Philips gets the most value out of every euro spent. You have an opportunity to join a dynamic and multi-functional team, seeking to create a significant impact on our company.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a customer-first attitude and the following

  • Master’s degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent

  • You have at least 8 years of experience (Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, Program Management, or Key Account Management)

  • 3 years of leadership or Business Partner experience in related areas inside or outside of Philips

  • Solid financial acumen, and ability to deliver results

  • Proven track record in managing large and complex programs

  • Deep understanding of Value/Cost/Financial data and analytics

  • Outstanding networking & influencing skills

  • Ability to build deep, trusting relationships and inspire people to action

  • Flexibility and situational adaptability

In return, we offer you

  • A meaningful career: your work will contribute to innovative health technologies and solutions that help improve billions of lives every year;

  • Health and well-being programs: to support you mentally and physically, allowing you to stay energized and be your best at work and beyond;

  • Career growth: access to a wide range of tools and resources to further your career, including a personal development budget, training and coaching;

  • Annual leave: 25 days with the option of purchasing up to 20 extra days per year;

  • Financial incentive: individual bonus based on personal performance and/or Philips' annual results;

  • Additional benefits: solid company pension scheme, attractive collective health insurance package and opportunity to buy Philips shares and products with a discount.

How we work at Philips
Our newly-adopted hybrid work concept fuses flexibility with collaboration to deliver great outcomes for our people and our customers. We are embracing an approach wherein we spend more time together than apart – which for full-time employees translates to an average of at least 3 days working from the office and up to 2 days from home – for our hybrid roles.
Hybrid work flexibility means people can meet the changing demands of work and home in the most balanced, productive, and healthy way.

Our hybrid working model is defined in 3 ways:

We believe in the importance of impactful collaboration: There's a certain energy when everyone’s in the same room that can heighten idea generation and creative friction needed for problem-solving.
We embrace flexibility: Choosing where, when and how to work can vary according to task and team schedules. Flexibility isn’t office or online, it means choosing the space that works best for you, your teams and our customers on a case-by-case basis.
We want to be at our best: The way we work and our workspaces are designed to support our well-being, offer career advancement opportunities, and enable us to be at our best.

Why should you join Philips?
Working at Philips is more than a job. It’s a calling to create a healthier society through meaningful work, focused on innovative, customer-first health technology solutions. Help us improve the health and well-being of billions of people, every year. Ultimately creating a career that no one could have planned for. Even you.

We kindly inform you that we will contact only chosen candidates.
