Your role
Functional
• enable & drive a culture of “automation-first” in the qa space
• drive & implement all activities and decisions that abide by the global qa strategy governed by the head of quality & testing
• create test strategies/test automation approaches, test automation plans, test scripts (manual as well when needed)
• create and maintain automation scripts and enhance existing scripts
• hands on with automated & manual testing methods for conducting multilayers testing of desktop, web applications, data services, micro services, database, etl, cloud service based application, middleware and os.
• perform in-sprint automation testing and build a regression test suite
• comprehensive analysis of any errors found using logs, database queries, legacy and unix file system, etc.
• expert in complete test and defect management lifecycle across agile and waterfall methodologies and tools
• generate test reports and status to be shared across multiple levels
• collaborate with bas, pms and developers to troubleshoot issues
• assist key business end-users in user acceptance testing
• assist other manual qa members in testing when required
Non functional:
• should create non-functional test strategies and plans for manual and automated test methods
• hands on conducting performance, security, availability & scalability, compatibility, tests using automated & manual testing methods for multilayered testing (data services, micro services, database, etl.) on desktop, web and in some cases legacy applications
• build a frame work to be able to perform in-sprint performance testing automation testing along with the devops pipeline
• comprehensive analysis of any errors found using logs, database queries, character user interface operating systems e.g. unix file system etc.
• hands on working knowledge of test and defect management using tools alm, jira (its various plugins) confluence, remedy, excel (macros) with comprehensive analysis of execution logs
Your team
Test Engineers in UBS are integral part of delivery teams. We follow agile & Iterative principles; You will work closely with the Test Manager leading QA activities for a complete sprint/release cycle within area of responsibility and may often provide a final "go". You are a guardian of quality of your domain.
Your expertise
You have:
• hands on experience in testing application with understanding of modern web & legacy desktop technologies
• automate business acceptance criteria through behavior driven development (bdd) using specification by example
functional
• hands-on experience with web services, rest api testing
• good knowledge of sql and rdbms databases, etl testing
• hands-on experience in java programming language or any programming language (core java, python, c#)
• hands on working knowledge of test and defect management using tools alm (includes qc), jira (its various plugins) confluence, remedy, excel ( including macros)
• working knowledge of unix / linux environments to be able to read files etc.
• good knowledge of devops and cicd pipeline, using github, teamcity/jenkins, nexus etc.
Non functional
• good understanding of non-functional test automation concepts and patterns (e.g. availability, scalability, performance and security)
• core hands-on experience with non-functional test automation tools, framework and knowhow of respective language that tool uses (eg. jmeter (java language), performance centre, loadrunner (ansi c language), locust (python language) hp fortify) app dynamics, perf mon, powershell, oracle perf tuning, ms sql
• hands on experience using activity usage tools: fiddler, ldap administrator or similar
• experience in testing web-based application with understanding of modern web & legacy desktop technologies
• experience working in scrum / agile methodology
