Your role

Do you like assessing and controlling risks? Are you a motivated self-starter with an interest in risk management topics? Are you open to learn new topics and ready to work within tight deadlines?
We’re looking for someone who joins our Risk team to cover all risk-related topics at Social Impact, covering the foundations, Community Impact (CI) and Philanthropic Advisory. T
he role covers the full range of risk management activities from control design to risk reporting, including interaction with internal and external risk functions.
The diverse range of tasks includes:
•execution of controls or risk assessments on established or new businesses/processes to identify potential/emerging material risks, including due diligence on the foundation’s counterparties
•engagement in adhoc project(s) including systems change, process improvement, new regulatory changes from requirements gathering through to implementation, or new business initiatives
•maintenance and further development of the risk framework and risk reporting, including the handling and closure of risk items from audits, C&ORC reviews or self-identified (ORI) issues
•preparation of and participation in the regular risk meetings
•supporting risk management interaction with key business partners (Compliance, Audit, Legal, Finance, Business Risk functions, etc.)

Your team

You’ll be a member of the Social Impact COO Office, covering a.o. UBS Optimus Foundation (UBS-OF), an award-winning, expert grant-making foundation that helps UBS clients use their wealth to drive positive social change for children and the environment. The UBS-OF network consists of foundations in Switzerland with a branch in Hong Kong and a representative office in China, sister foundations in Germany, India, Singapore and the UK as well as a donation platform in the US, and is further responsible for the different Donor-Advised Foundations (DAF) and CI.

The Operating Office plays a pivotal role in the smooth-running of the global operations for the different entities in the network.

Your expertise

•several years of relevant experience in Risk, Compliance or Audit function
•analytical skills to critically verify and challenge relevant documentation
•a strong communicator with excellent writing skills
•keen to gain further experience in risk management and the foundation and philanthropy industry
•a true team player
•a quick learner who can work with considerable autonomy, while recognizing when to escalate
•able to assess new ideas and provide implementable solutions
•striving for excellence in everything you do
•fluent in English, other languages would be a great asset
