Job description:
The Senior Tax Specialist MDT Brazil (Manage Direct Tax) role is designed for performing key filling and reporting accountabilities in area of Finance Operations Manage Direct Tax ("FO MDT") process for Brazilian scope and for supporting the MDT Brazil Leads in the delivery of activities carried out by the MDT Team. It involves individual contributor responsibilities in area of preparation of tax returns and tax provisions for certain material legal entities and also some support in reviewing such deliverables when needed. It also provides a very good exposure to stakeholder management as well as direct tax compliance and tax group reporting.

 

Key responsibilities:

- Deliver on time and accurate tax reports, returns and payments for migrated activity to FO MDT Cracow Team and tax provision for all businesses in Brazil and adherence to the managerial metrics of the process;

- Understand and operate various tax provisioning/compliance tools in order to demonstrate this in practice for complex MDT scope for Brazil;

- Understand Group Accounting and Reporting changes and enable incorporation of such changes and in the MDT process as may be relevant;

- Support for tax audits as well as support for resolving audit queries;

- Supporting updates and maintenance of Key tax assumptions and Work Instructions & Training framework to reduce time to delivery to optimal levels;

- Lead and manage and transition additional/new scope migrations of MDT activities.


Team engagements:

- Support continuous professional development and good practices in MDT;

- Proactively engage with Business and Country tax teams to enable business knowledge sharing with the MDT team and help embed into processes as relevant;

- Keeps abreast of Business developments and Business performance drivers;

 

Continuous Improvement (CI) responsibilities:

- Ensure correct and timely escalations of process exceptions or tolerance/variances and their resolution;

- Continuous focus on improvement opportunities in process & content, identify & actions opportunities to reduce complexity, promote best practices, provide focus on financial issues & achieve operational excellence;

- Pursue identification & implementation of CI project pipeline and aid in achieving the process targets.

 

Stakeholder management:

- Proactively engage and maintain strong stakeholder and business connectivity;

- Proactively create and promote best practices, provide focus on financial issues & achieve operational excellence

 

Requirements:

- At least 4 years of broad international or specific country-related professional work experience in area of direct tax and/or accountancy. 
- Work experience on migrated tax/finance activity in multinational companies or professional firms would be plus. Recognized professional qualification in areas of tax/accountancy will be an asset.                                                                   
- Bachelors / Masters in Finance degree with broad professional experience in tax/finance activity in multinational companies or professional firms. 
- Working knowledge of world-class ERP systems and excellent MS Office skills required. 
- Good understanding of Control Frameworks, controls in a tax environment and tax accounting under GAAP and/or IFRS (in particular IAS 12). 
- Effective influencing skills and communicator of complex tax compliance issues; both written and oral. Supervisory experience is a strong plus. 
- Continuous Improvement mindset illustrated with practical implementations to the tax / accounting process. 
- Fluent English is a must.
- Fluent Portuguese is a must
