Marketing Portfolio Specialist
Work location: Shell Energy Campus, Czerwone Maki 85

Job description:
This role is part of the Global Lubricants Marketing Product Portfolio team and will be responsible for the implementation of the product portfolio management process in Lubricants Global Marketing.

It is an exciting new role designed to ensure that we are driving sustained business value through an ability to execute portfolio decisions in the short, medium and long term.

To do this, the position holder will strongly interact with colleagues around the world virtually (phone, e-mail etc.) with very little – if any – face-to-face contact, which offers a very interesting opportunity to work with different cultures and functions.

Accountabilities:
1. Co-manage and track the implementation of an existing product portfolio plan with the regions and the global stakeholders in Marketing, Supply Chain and other related areas. This includes
- a clear regular interface to relevant stakeholders to understand the status and explore gaps.
- the regular management of our tool for planning, re-prioritizing and signing off product launches and withdrawals, mainly together with Supply Chain

2. Redesign the existing product portfolio reporting/tracking framework for Lubricants to deliver a fit for purpose and integrated view of what to measure, why, and how this will lead to action – with a focus on the last point.
This involves:
- obtaining a clear understanding of the business background in which reporting is used/not used, clearly moving beyond a “process only” into a “business value” mindset.
- a strong cooperation with/steer of 2 Asia-based employees who execute the relevant reporting. The report generation as such is done in Asia and is not the main scope of this role, even though a good understanding of the report structure and content will have to be acquired by the position holder.

3. Ensuring measurement tools are clearly linked to the business objectives across the marketing, Sales and Supply Chain organisation. Keeping key stakeholders informed within Lubes and working with local and global marketers to drive tangible outcomes.

4. Provide documentation and training for tools used in Portfolio Management, together with Asia-based reporting team.

5. Support Post investment reviews for portfolio initiatives, deriving learnings.
Requirements:
The role sits in-between the already existing classic product marketing roles (i.e. definition of product per segment and/or market) and process-oriented roles (i.e. design, tracking and implementation of processes to manage the product portfolio during the lifecycle). It has a clear focus on the latter, but requires the ability to think about the former. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering business value through portfolio management and related processes, and will be able to balance the need to understand details with the ability to see the big picture of the business.

Requirements:
- 8+ years experience in marketing/finance/analytics/process design environment
- high degree of proactivity, reliability and a strong attention to detail will be required.
- very good project management skills
- strong stakeholder management skills, preferably in an international context, as the role will have a high degree of interaction with colleagues located around the world.
- Excellent English is a must.
- Previous experience in a global, virtual role preferred.
- Analytical skills
