Your role

Digital Platforms Technology Department is looking for experienced technical leader and manager who will help to build and drive organizational culture for Digital Platforms Technology in Poland. You will be joining existing team of 60+ employees to drive deliveries on modern IB technology wide platforms. Your work will include mix of regional & people management duties combined with close cooperation alongside engineering team on delivering business value to the users.

Responsibilities :
•as an Engineering Manager, your role is to lead by example and keep effective, happy teams.
•play a key role to organize cross team collaborations, knowledge transfer sessions, meet-ups, KATAs.
•build the team spirit, manage improvements by incremental retrospectives.
•act as people manager to enable your team members to grow and achieve career goals.
•conduct yearly evaluations of your team.
•be a key person to help your team managing business stakeholders.
•learn the team how to prioritize work and remove impediments.
•as the most senior person in a team act as a mentor and coach.
•drive the change and innovation together with CTO and IB Technology Enterprise Services & Architecture department.

Your team

Digital Platforms Technology department in Poland contains multiple teams looking after modern applications within Investment Banking space. That includes UBS Neo, integration with Symphony collaboration platform, tools optimizing engineering productivity. The technology roadmap for your teams is to bring cloud, CD solutions for all IB projects as part of digital journey. Your team is divided into squads responsible for different components: Solutions, Platform, Mobile, Web, PKS/K8S, Deploy.

Your expertise

•strong technical background and experience managing complex technical deliveries (including hands-on involvement)
•leadership & people management experience within Agile environment, including multiple teams
•practical experience with continuous improvement & learning culture

You are:

•an excellent communicator and quick learner
•self-driven, motivated and disciplined
•aware of on-going technology trends and know how to pragmatically leverage their benefits
•comfortable working independently, as well as in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
•fluent in English

You are familiar with:

•Server stack: Java 8+, Ruby, Spring Boot, Microservices, Kafka, Cassandra, Consul
•Devops: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, TeamCity, Jenkins, Puppet, Gradle, Maven, Vault
•Web technologies: React, Redux, Webpack, NPM, Node.js, RxJs, TypeScript, Babel
