Who we are looking for

You will have direct experience working with financial services, legal, securities trading and/or investment management compliance. You will also have ability to understand and decipher Prospectus, Statement of Additional Information, Investment Policies and Client Guidelines, good understanding of different financial instruments and mechanisms driving fund industry, and strong knowledge of Investment Compliance related regulations e.g. UCITS, MMF, The Investment Company Act of 1940, and National Instrument 81-102. (@ min UCITS). The role is dynamic, you will need ability to perform as a team member in a fast-paced, high-growth, mission critical service delivery environment, as well as strong organizational skills. You will also display initiative and will be self-driven.

The team you will be joining is a part of Charles River Development (or CRD), that became a part of State Street in 2018. CRD helps create enterprise investment management software solutions for large institutions in the areas of institutional investment, wealth management and hedge funds. Together we have created first open front-to-back platform - State Street Alpha, that was launched in 2019.

Investment Compliance Senior Specialist will focus on transition of Investment Compliance legacy system from MIG21 monitoring system to CRIMS (all instances & countries in scope of Poland). Specialist will work on testing (prod parallel), resolving issues, designing solutions, creating & sharing best practice, building and streamlining the operating model in CRD. Post conversion the specialist will join respective BAU teams.

Responsibilities include:

  • Review and comparison of rules, results & reporting between CRIMS and the legacy system during the parallel period

  • Where necessary, suggesting updates to test logic to ensure it meets both client requirements and system best practices.

  • Developing compliance operating model in automated investment compliance software (Charles River) from both system & operations perspective

  • Standardizing client requirements & proposing solutions

  • Documenting requirements for process improvements or functional changes / enhancements

  • Optimize Investment Compliance workflow

  • Best practice creation, spreading across IC teams & creating supporting documentation

  • Project Management duties:

    • Manage and execute upon platform conversion plans and new client onboarding activities.

    • Plan, align and execute testing scheme

    • Align reporting requirements with system capabilities

    • Understand and communicate system differences

    • Maintain project documentation and ensure stakeholder engagement

    • Escalate risks and issues in a timely and professional manner

    • Execute upon enhancement requests of varying scale and complexity

  • Support BAU and production issues for converted clients (post-implementation support).

  • Assess operational effectiveness and make suggestions to streamline and improve upon functions, workflow and processes.

  • Help to manage relationships with clients, making sure that requests are being met and that internal / external clients are satisfied with the level of service.

What we value

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

  • Good understanding of fund regulations and prospectus guidelines

  • Experience working with Bloomberg data or other market data vendors an asset(IDC, RIMES MDS, Reuters)

  • Experience administering and supporting rules-based applications and reporting tools.

  • Expertise of MIG21& investment compliance operations or strong fund admin background

  • Ability to develop business relationships, both within and outside of the organization.

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.

  • Strong problem-solving, time management, and analytical skills

  • Ability to work under pressure.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize multiple competing tasks, and execute upon concurrent assignments.
