Job description:
The team, led by the GM Data Privacy for Downstream/New Energies, works with the Chief Privacy Office legal team and Data Privacy focal points across the New Energies businesses and in the Functions to ensure compliance with the Group’s Data Privacy manual. Our role is to institutionalise Data Privacy best practice in a fit for purpose manner throughout the organisation and the support functions, ensuring appropriate engagement, tools and training is in place such that full value can be extracted from sales and marketing activities, with risks appropriately assessed and mitigated.
Developing innovative solutions to innovative problems, in full co-operation with legal, business and functional experts, is an essential part of doing business better through excellent data privacy practice.
This position which will suit someone of high energy who is committed both to protecting Shell’s reputation whilst also to enabling business growth through highly effective customer relationships. We are looking for a talented Data Privacy Manager to help us navigate the growth of new businesses which are often rich in data, customer connections and software enabled services.
Accountabilities include-

Ensuring compliance with the Shell Data Privacy Manual and other appropriate frameworks and external regulations.

Process improvement - Working to implement data privacy risk control frameworks and gap closure plans, which are sustained over time.

Best Practice Application and Development - Transferring best practice data privacy initiatives from DS to most appropriately manage data privacy risk at the operational level in NE, and vice versa.

Improved ways of working - Work collaboratively with the data privacy SMEs to better integrate data privacy into NE business processes.

Incident Management - Ensure the agreed incident management process is in place and used in a timely manner, coordinating incident response and learning as required.

Stakeholder Management, particularly communicating priorities.

Translating external regulations and industry trends into value-driving activities.
Requirements:

A strong and deep working knowledge of data privacy fundamentals and the external regulatory environment is preferred

Certification in IAPP (International Association of Privacy Professionals) e.g. CIPM or CIPP.

Experience implementing policies, procedures, templates, and toolkits to be used by a variety of business stakeholders at a global level

Proven ability to manage risk exposure.

Extensive knowledge of IT terminology, processes, systems, and applications, as well as knowledge of database concepts, data modelling, and database applications

Proven stakeholder and relationship skills, with demonstrated ability to engage/influence, are very important.

Sound judgment and initiative, including strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, flexibility to adapt to changing environments and needs, and the ability to translate legal advice and guidance into actionable solutions.

Experience in the B2B sector ideal and would be a strong advantage.
