We’re looking for a software developer experienced in one programming language and open to building his experience with devops and public cloud, mainly AWS. The ideal candidate will have prior exposure to enterprise software and proficiency in any programming language up to a level of good coding practices around thread handling but also will be open to trying other languages as needed. The most common languages used on our platform are Java, C#/.Net, Python and C++.

On your first day you will be helping with automating processes as you familiarize yourself with the platform, then grow to become the key driver for our private/public cloud push. You will have an opportunity to help your colleagues with efforts around devops guidance, AWS compute management, containerization and occasional troubleshooting of current, complex mechanisms with the goal of simplifying them subsequently. The role will be focused on increasing capacity and developing tools while improving stability.

Our platform is a 1TB per day parallel compute solution providing fundamental tools to our trading desks, risk management and product control. The platform is a multi-million dollar ecosystem of services built with multiple backend technologies, both open-source and commercial. We work with batch but also real-time/streaming processes.

You will be joining a passionate, experienced team with diverse backgrounds and skillsets. We’re driven by learning and finding scalable and stable solutions to new challenges. We respect our users and each other equally and we value each new perspective. We own our work throughout the development cycle, beginning with ideation to production release. We often coordinate testing automation and devops pipelines. We don’t mind helping our Production Support teams when our solution is not working as planned. We use modern development tools, including full Atlassian on-premise stack.

The candidate will be successful in the role if they already are familiar with some AWS capabilities and are genuinely interested in data processes behind modern, institutional banking, e.g. trade processing. Stream processing, messaging, horizontal scalability and big data are some of the problems we’re tackling across the team. We’ve began the process of containerizing our services and running first trials on the private cloud.
