Operations Lead Specialist - Trade Settlement

Join us as an Operations Lead Specialist – Trade Settlement

As an Operations Lead Specialist Trade Settlement you would be responsible for assisting the Supervisor with day to day work, enhancing productivity, reducing Risk Profile and Enhancing Client Experience as related to highly complex and client specific security related transactions. You would be a Subject Matter Expert related to processing activities and inquiries on such as: settlement of instructions, trade status updates, processing and recording and reporting as well as reconciliation. As a Subject Matter Expert you are expected to assist team members as needed for trade expertise and back-up. You would also be a back-up for all functions, including some Supervisor tasks, and you will assist Management in the identification and resolution of issues. You must have the ability to identify market related issues on instructions (missing or conflicting requirements) and communicate these issues along with expected resolution directly to clients in a formal setting (such as a call or meeting with other LOB managers or clients). You should have a direct focus on meeting the Standards and Goals of the department. You proactively identify trends that will aid in the increased STP for both the Division as well as the Client, adding to the overall Client Experience by acting as a direct contact related to a specific client relationship or process.

Some of your key responsibilities include:

  • Assist Supervisors in Workflow Management
  • Independently manage client specific processes and provide daily feedback and reporting
  • Act as dedicated point of contact for specifically identified client processes
  • Processing and analysis of complex and client specific instructions
  • Assists with testing of system enhancements and/or new systems
  • Reviews and resolves pre-settlement & post settlement discrepancies with internal and external parties
  • Understands market settlement procedures and restrictions
  • Perform various edit checks on all electronic trades
  • Verify (dual controls) information prior to release to other areas of the firm as well as release to market
  • Escalate known or potential issues to management including any potential exposure items on trades not settling by deadline or trades being held over night
  • Help ensure all deadlines and requirements are being met
  • Assist team members and supervisors with daily tasks as Subject Matter Expert
  • Resolve transaction related problems using established procedures or client documentation and available systems
  • Analyze trends and provide feedback on instruction content and format as related to market requirements/standards
  • Ensure timely response to internal and external requests
  • Ability to clearly and professionally communicate instruction related issues to clients
  • Provide superior client service
  • Work proactively with clients and internal areas to improve instruction and process flow

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience
  • At least 2 years of Custody/Operations experience
  • Excellent proven written and verbal communication skills
  • An aptitude for thorough analytical and problem resolution
  • Proven ability to provide feedback and guidance to clients effecting change in behavior and overall satisfaction
  • Self-starter, proactive and objective oriented
  • Ability to execute tasks with little direction, and plan time effectively to meet deadlines
  • Ability to multitask and deal with competing priorities
  • Ability to identify, analyze, resolve and when needed escalate a problem
