The Legal Online Resources Administrator sits in the Central Legal Projects team in the Legal Services Global Operations department, supporting all Legal departments, countries and regions. Our department works closely with all legal departments to identify, manage and maintain the online legal information resources required by the legal community, including those provided by external organisations such as legal publishers or law firms. In addition, the role includes helping end users to find and use existing and new legal online information services.
Purpose
- Manage the online information services used by Shell Legal
- Identify legal information service user requirements and match to market-based information service solutions
- Run online service product trials, gather feed-back and recommend services
- Liaise with other departments in Shell e.g. Contracting & Procurement / External Information Sources as needed to support negotiations with suppliers for new services and renewals (ensuring value for money)
- Monitor / maintain usage statistics and general services information (for records and budgeting)
- Keep up with changes/developments in online legal information services
- Maintain / develop Legal’s External Information Resources webpages (Legal World)
- Raise awareness of online legal information services to lawyers
- Deliver presentations and training on available resources / arrange training from external suppliers

Experience, Skills and Qualifications Required
All candidates with relevant experience and expertise will be considered. Those candidates who can demonstrate specific experience within some or all of the below areas will be preferred:
- Experience of providing information services, preferably a Librarianship or Information qualification.
- An interest in law, lawyers and how their work contributes to Shell.
- Experience of managing subscription online information resources
- Ideally an understanding of the work of lawyers, their information needs and a knowledge of online information services used by lawyers
- Pricing and content negotiation skills
- Research skills – finding relevant information for people
- Presentation and training skills – delivering mostly virtually
- Web page content design and writing skills
- Relationship building skills including with external suppliers, vendors and law firms
- Confident and self-motivated
- Ability to work independently or with a variety of people across all levels of the organisation
- Good organisational skills with an ability to take the initiative
- Demonstrate flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities
