The CR team will bring external analysis and perspectives to business decisions, communicate Shell to the world and drive Shell’s brand and reputation. Where you fit in:

The newly created Corporate Relations (CR) Adviser Social Performance (SP) APAC position is based in Manila, the Philippines, where a growing communications community provides Shell’s global businesses with solutions in internal/external communications, content development and campaigning, brand and reputation management, commercial deal-making support, cutting-edge creative solutions and professional operations at the nerve centre of the function.

The successful candidate will be the focal point for reporting, budgeting and payments for the Social Performance and Indigenous Participation team. The role will be integrated into Shell’s Australia Social Performance team, which creates a positive presence and legacy in the communities and countries in
which we operate to gain community acceptance for Shell’s business objectives. This is crucial for our ambition to strengthen our license to operate and demonstrate that we are a responsible company. The position formally reports to CR Team Lead SP in Krakow and informally to the National Social
Performance Manager, Australia.

What’s the role:

This role supports the Australia National Social Performance team, including Indigenous Affairs in their reporting, budgeting and payments linked to Shell Australia’s community benefits programs.

It requires an understanding of the businesses' strategies, commercial and reputation impacts and opportunities in the region and drives integrated reporting including input into critical, executive decision documents.

Accountabilities:

Supports the National Social Performance Manager to:

  • Manage SI and community contribution budgeting, invoicing and spend reporting
  • Manage spend and programme-impact reporting
  • Manage supplier contracts and sponsorship and donation agreements
  • Manage and monitor fund levels and spend rates of Purchase Orders
  • Manage process for reviewing and responding to third party funding requests and proposals
  • Manage grants process and funding rounds
  • Manage ad hoc special projects

Responsible for:

  • Compiling and synthesizing complex data into usable insights, analysis and reports
  • Implementing new processes with the objective of being simple, clear, and transparent
  • Ensuring charges and rates are aligned with agreement rates and agreed quotes
  • Maintain payments registers
  • Ensuring team compliance with Anti-bribery & Corruption and Information Management and Data Privacy requirements
  • Leading interfaces with key internal and external stakeholders to influence outcomes

What we need from you:

  • Experienced in vendor and complex project management and/or large commercial deals that have multiple impacts on multiple stakeholders
  • Innovative and experienced problem solver; quickly able to generate and compile financial reporting and able to articulate ideas clearly to senior management
  • Strong analytical skills; quickly understand business needs, cultural practices and stakeholder expectations for different projects
  • Strong business partnering and strategic thinking; with strong listening skills backed up by an understanding of the businesses' strategies, commercial and reputation impacts and opportunities in the region
  • Strong writing skills; able to create written content, including power point, for engagement materials, briefs, executive decision documents etc.
  • Integrative working style; ability to work in cross-functional, multi-cultural teams and across time zones, and deliver challenging projects without formal control
  • External mindset, with deep appreciation of unique cultures and rural values
  • A learner mindset - being a role model in your levels of curiosity and reflection and encouraging people to learn from their mistakes and successes.
