Business Applications Analyst, Senior Associate

The Senior Associate Business Applications Analyst is responsible for liaising with business teams in order to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate requirements for changes in business processes, policies and information systems.

What you will be responsible for

As Business Applications Analyst you will

  • Follow the BA process outlined in the BA Charter
  • Analyze new system enhancements/regulatory changes/ operational process improvements requests to understand in detail impact on business functions and systems
  • Perform data mapping and transformation in migration projects
  • Work with business representatives to understand requirements, scope and acceptance criteria
  • Define mapping of “as-is” and “to-be” business processes
  • Interpret business needs and translation into application and operational requirements
  • Document requirements according to standard templates using natural language
  • Walkthrough of requirements with Business and Technology areas
  • Obtain appropriate sign-off
  • Escalate of risks and issues to Project Manager
  • Work closely with developers and end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction
  • Be responsible for provision of the Application Support Document
  • Write User Manuals, Training Material and Application Support Documents as required
  • Proactively identify and contribute to the evolution of the BA Charter/Methodology to industry best practice, to meet the changing requirements of customers, to improve efficiency, or to reduce risk
  • Drive and challenge Business Units on their assumptions of how they can execute business processes
  • Be responsible for Project management of small initiatives may be required from time to time

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of business analysis experience in a financial services or similar, for instance fund industry operational experience.
  • Experience in work in business processes or business analysis within financial sector, especially in fund industry.
  • Knowledge of Trailer fee processing would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of requirements and project life cycle would be an advantage.
  • Understanding different project methodologies (Waterfall/Agile) would be an advantage
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office tools especially Excel, including pivot tables, advance formula.
  • Knowledge of MS Access and experience in building macros would be an advantage.
  • Experience with work with databases and IT infrastructure would be welcome.
  • Advanced knowledge of Word, Power Point, Outlook, Visio
