The Finance Risk Infrastructure Business Solutions Team (FRIBS) is responsible for providing business and technology solutions for our Finance and Risk business partners. This role will require familiarity with business analysis for implementation of banking solutions will directly support the Global Banking Modernization Project and other similar projects in the financial services domain. This position will provide an excellent opportunity to interact with many different business areas within the bank.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for a Data analyst with 7 to 10 years of experience in data sourcing and data analysis skills - advanced proficiency in SQL is needed to perform the job. You should have professional experience in the Banking or Financial Services Sector and experience in Treasury , Regulatory, MIS or Risk Reporting is a plus. You must be a strong, decisive, results oriented individual who can develop and manage relationships across the company and with a wide variety of partners, based on trust, teamwork and knowledge.
Your new role
The Senior Business Analyst will perform business/systems analysis for various Finance, Regulatory Reporting, Treasury, Risk, Planning and Analysis projects. This individual will liaise with the project sponsors, stakeholders, external vendors and other divisions within State Street to ensure the delivery of quality products within the expected timeframes.
As Senior Business Analyst you will
Perform Data Analytics and Data Analysis
Interact and interface with clients, partner organizations, development and testing teams on the entire book of work
Work with the Business teams to gather detailed, accurate and specific data requirements
Prepare functional and technical specifications documents and work closely with developers to ensure that they understand the specifications and deliver solutions for these specifications
Work with Business Analysts on firm-wide initiatives and participate in the testing phases
Assist with production and support activities and help identify, mitigate and resolve issues which may come up from time to time
Work with Global counterparts and identify common tools and techniques which can be employed to increase the overall productivity of the team
What we value
Previous level of experience and functional skills
Understanding of Operational Data Store and Data Warehouse
7+ years of professional experience in Data Sourcing and Data/Business Analysis is required
Ability to understand Data Sourcing Requirements
Ability to understand Data Transformation, Data Mappings, Data Model, Normalization (& De Normalization)
Prior experience in working for Data Intensive programs in Banking or Financial Services is preferred
Good knowledge of Banking and Securities products
Good knowledge in Finance and Accounting
Should understand the trade and loan attributes used for reporting
Proficiency in SQL is expected
Data & business analysis skills – Familiarity with data feeds, mapping documents, data specification documents. Ability to trace data elements through their lineage and transformation as data elements move through systems.
Understanding of Agile Methodology
Ability to conduct Gap analysis, Impact analysis and system analysis with a high standard of proficiency on defined projects and continuous improvement initiatives
Ability to gain a deep understanding of the data architecture and how it rolls out to the reporting architecture
