Purpose of the Role:
State Street Global Advisors is a leading asset manager providing investment management services for Official Institutions (OI) globally. SSGA is the largest manager of sovereign wealth fund (SWF) assets by assets under management (AUM), the 3rd largest manager of central bank assets and a leader amongst public pensions funds and supranational organizations. It has been singled out for multiple industry awards including Central Banking’s Asset Manager of the Year in 2016, 2017 and 2019. To support deepening existing relationships and developing new ones with sovereign clients, SSGA created the Official Institutions Group (OIG) 20 years ago.
As an important member of SSGA’s OIG you will work closely with the Global Head of Official Institutions Client Strategy to support the development of our global business strategy. In a rapidly changing environment, you will establish yourself as a highly organized, collaborative individual and be visible at the highest levels of the organization. The remit will be constantly evolving. You'll consistently demonstrate a commitment to progress SSGA's OI business strategy and its execution. The particular challenges SSGA faces in the OI channel are demanding; the opportunities for the individual and our larger business are sought-after and exciting.
Major Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Head of OI Client Strategy supporting the crafting and further execution of our strategic objectives
- Build relationships with team members across Distribution, Marketing, Investments and Finance amongst others, gaining recognition as a central resource for our shared success
- Help drive strategically important projects, engaging OI colleagues and subject matter experts from across the State Street franchise
- Serve as important liaison with external partners such as Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum (OMFIF), International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds (IFSWF), One Planet Sovereign Wealth Fund Forum, Global SWF
- Plan, schedule and execute on firm-wide external initiatives such as the International Monetary Fund/World Bank Group Annual Meetings
- Working closely with OIG colleagues, support the organization of premier client events such as the annual SSGA Institute, OMFIF events and client training.
- Monitor OIG’s annual budget to maximize impact and minimize costs for SSGA
- Continuously develop and share OIG specific knowledge and experience with SSGA investment and distribution teams, with a focus on channel trends and investment solutions.
- Prepare internal and external presentations on the OIG, for internal partners and client meetings, respectively.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- University degree, demonstrating intellectual curiosity and a dedication to excellence
- Approximately 5 to 7 years work experience in the financial services industry, previous experience in asset management is a plus
- Languages: English; fluency in any other major language a plus
- Impeccable English writing skills; excellent general presentation skills
- Strong MS Excel skills, experience using Bloomberg, MS PowerPoint, SalesForce, Qvidian or Tableau is a plus
