Your role
Are you risk averse but risk aware? Do you know how to maintain independence and objectivity? Looking for a new challenge, where you can play a key role in detecting and preventing risk to the bank? We are looking for someone in Monitoring and Surveillance to support our Unauthorised Trade Surveillance team monitoring risk for the Investment Bank.
Responsibilities include:
- Risk assessment of discrete trade events and patterns of behaviour that carry a risk of unauthorised trading, as delivered by an industry leading surveillance platform
- Interrogating the alerting trades within Front Office booking systems in order to build out a pattern of activity linked to the trade / alert
- Liaising with Middle Office teams in order to gain further explanations surrounding alerted trade bookings.
- Collaborating with various stakeholders on improving the existing risk control framework.
- Maintain meticulous records of all information gathered in relation to each alert to create a thorough audit trail representing the investigation
- Contribute to the teams calibration efforts (refining risk indicators and creating new risk profiles) based on feedback from investigated alerts, to ensure we are continually following the risk.
Your team
You’ll be working in the Unauthorised Trade Surveillance team based in Krakow. Our team is responsible for detecting potential fraudulent and/or unauthorised trading events within the Investment Bank and providing relevant and timely feedback to cross functional stakeholders. You will be working closely with the team in London, with regular and ongoing collaboration and interaction.

Your expertise
- Bachelor or Master degree, preferably in finance, mathematics or similar area.
- Previous experience in an international company, preferably in banking sector.
- Product knowledge across asset classes (e.g. Equity Derivatives, Cash, Fixed Income, Rates, FX) is a plus.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Very good communication skills and ability to work in the team.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to manipulate large amount of data to compile reports.
- Data analytics skills on MS Office, databases (SQL) and business intelligence tool (Tableau)
Beneficial but non-mandatory:
- Understanding of trading systems and trading rationale
- Experience in a control function (e.g. Middle Office / Finance) in an investment bank
- Experience of data analytics
