Your role
We're looking for a senior Software Asset Management (SAM) specialist who is specialized in complex publishers to join our Global Software Asset Management (GSAM) function with an objective to optimize software contract spend, manage compliance, analyze data, draw the relevant conclusions and then work with key stakeholders to implement opportunities or remediate risks.
This is a challenging role, requiring a broad and in-depth understanding of SAM, IT technology and the ability to collaborate with senior stakeholders within UBS.
- In-depth and proven knowledge of the SAM market overall, SAM operations and competencies, with ability to apply and advise on complex software licensing topics and produce Effective licensing Positions (ELPs) for complex software publishers.
- Review new software contracts & understand the deal terms and conditions, including business requirement, verification of new tech introduction, Total Contract Value, commercial/ license terms, license metrics, usage rules, product use rights for complex software publishers
- Experience with various publisher System Measurement Tools (e.g. IBM, Oracle, Microsoft, SAP, etc.).
- Proactively identify and drive initiatives to technically remediate risk positions, developing best practices and processes to continuously improve software asset management service.
- Identify necessary changes and play key role in the complex software contract negotiations, manage demand and contract updates, liaise with external vendors, legal, contract and sourcing teams.
- Deliver ELP for complex publishers (e.g. IBM, Oracle, Microsoft, SAP, etc.) by analyzing, validating & confirming ELP position across multiple products/vendors
- Experience in managing vendor initiated audits towards effective technical resolution
- Review Product landscape to determine consolidation opportunities across the product portfolio
- Partner with CTO and CDIO streams to optimize license requirement on test and development environments
- Implement best practice to collect accurate inventory data to determine consumption of license entitlements

Your team
You’ll be working in the Supply Chain Team at the UBS office in Krakow. We are responsible for managing the Bank's software assets and maintaining compliance with our software license and maintenance contracts while contributing to the reduction in spend across the software portfolio. We also support sourcing teams in contract negotiations by providing current license positions and input on license specific terms and conditions.
Your expertise
- You are passionate about software asset management with about 8 to 10 years' experience supporting SAM operations, developing and implementing asset management tools (e.g. ServiceNow, Flexera), frameworks and governance.
- You have strong experience in conducting ELP reviews and audit defense for complex publishers
- You have a Bachelor's degree, preferable Masters’ degree
- You have a CSAM or any other accreditation in SAM discipline (preferred qualification)
- You have strong attention to detail, ability to process data and work in a complex global organizational environment.
