Your role
Are you passionate technologist? Are you passionate about assuring software quality and have a keen eye for detail? Do you have a knack for understanding business process and how we can optimize and improve through a combination of process re-engineering and technology? If so, you are the right person for this role.
We are seeking candidates with great analytical skills able to work in an Agile environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
• participating in an international team for the technical delivery of the GB solution,
• elaboration of test scenarios for User Stories, preparation of testing data and validating the results,
• performing smoke, regression and component testing at the conclusion of each sprint,
• interfacing with key parts of the Technology organization, including the CTO team, Infrastructure Services, and business teams,
• acting an active role in continuous improvement of the delivery process.
GB projects have a strong focus on Test Automation with DevOps skill using sets of tools to ensure rapid turnaround of test packs and fast feedback about application health, in terms of non-functional requirements. Therefore, the candidates are expected to develop their skills in Test Automation area:
- Ability to learn fast from your mentor(s)
- Understand existing Automation test framework while onboarding
- Analyse automation reports (Allure) and report defects if needed
- Maintain existing test cases and create new tests
Your team
This role within Global Banking (GB) IT is for a QA Test Engineer to validate and enhance the Quality of bespoke software, working closely with Development and BA teams from analysis and design through to testing signoff.
Your expertise
• Attention to detail
• Excellent analytical skills
• Able to quickly absorb non-functional requirements and translate into sound test scripts and testable metrics
• Document and present functional and non-functional test findings throughout the life of the project
• Maintain baseline metrics for each application, component and release
• Ability to adopt to project demands (manual and automated testing)
• Understanding of networking and web technologies such as HTTP(S), HTML, JavaScript, Web Services, REST API, JSON, client-server architecture etc.
• Web page composition (static vs. dynamic elements, browser behaviour, etc.)
• Git basics, experience with any code management solution is an additional asset
• Experience with Task Management System (like JIRA, etc)
• Basic knowledge in Unix (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) and Windows command line tools is an additional asset
• Basic knowledge of SQL is an additional asset
• Agile Test Engineering experience with a basic understanding of Selenium
• Enthusiastic team player, willing to "roll sleeves up"
• Self-motivated and dedicated, able to work effectively under deadline pressures
• Not afraid to challenge the status quo.
