As Procurement Specialist you will be part of the requisition to pay (RTP) team that manages the volumes of purchase order activities required to support Rhineland Manufacturing Site purchasing requirements. CP OPS Manufacturing team in Europe is responsible for processing ~185.000 requisitions per year for materials and services for several refineries. The team issues 60K manual Purchase Order per year and manages on time delivery for 80K Material orders per year!

Your main accountabilities:

  • Ensure that (automated) RtP process run well end to end by using monitoring tools and resolving any process blockers

  • Ensure that vendors used are approved

  • Act as RTP Focal Point for business stakeholders on escalations: Address RtP issues with Requisitioner, Procurement Staff, Vendors, Tax and Finance.

  • Support if required the CP Operations in Rhineland refinery in conducting analysis on a regular basis to drive continuous improvement

  • Process material and service requests; Create, organize, and issue purchase orders for approval

  • Track on-time delivery of materials/services during execution.

  • Troubleshoot issues with Purchase Orders, vendor outline agreements, payment terms, and invoices.

  • Challenge demand, specification, and cost to deliver savings on a continual basis


  • Strong communication skills & capability of supporting stakeholders under challenging conditions in a multi-cultural environment, both on site as well as in virtual relationships.

  • Strong analytical skills and goal driven pragmatic issue resolution

  • Robust familiarity with SAP and supporting systems- e.g. Ms Excel

  • Basic experience with RtP process would be an asset, as well as negotiation skills

  • Basic understanding of refinery manufacturing equipment, material and service needs would be an asset

  • Very German (min.B2) and very good English (B2)

  • Team player with ‘organization-first’ behavior
