Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the Aon Tax Department in managing compliance with the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (“FATCA”) (U.S. tax law) and the Common Reporting Standard (“CRS”) (non-US law) applying in over 120 countries globally, including responding to inquiries received at the Aon FATCA Inbox, preparing self-certifications for Aon entities and lodging annual returns and compliance forms due to regulatory agencies.
  • Supporting US and UK tax certification process, including drafting documentation relating to tax certifications that can be provided to third parties doing business with Aon and assisting the Aon Tax Department with analysis of benefits under US tax treaties.
  • Assisting the Aon Tax Department with U.S. international tax compliance for funds managed by Aon, including classification as a Passive Foreign Investment Companies (“PFIC”) or Controlled Foreign Corporation (“CFC”) with any attendant inclusions under Subpart F of the Internal Revenue Code or under the Global Intangible Low-Taxed Income (“GILTI”) rules as well as drafting Forms 8621, 5471, 8858 and 8865 that are prepared on behalf of Aon.
  • Assisting with the tax entity management process for Aon by supporting maintenance of an Excel based register of the transactions and applying changes to Aon’s global entity charts.
  • Assisting in U.S. tax forms preparation needed to file certain U.S. tax elections, including Entity Classification Elections on Form 8832 and Asset Sale Elections under Internal Revenue Code section 338, including support in performing research on whether the elections are appropriate and can be made.
  • Ad hoc tax research projects and data

The suitable candidate for this role:

  • Is fluent in English
  • Has experience working in the financial services sector, specifically with international taxation involved, where worldwide tax treaties are applicable.
  • Has experience in tax return of a different kind preparation (e.g. CIT or VAT specific) and drafting documentation and procedures for compliance is required.
  • Has experience with US taxation, FATCA and the CRS is a plus but not a requirement
  • Has experience with Microsoft Excel to handle large data-sets.
  • Has experience with, or is willing to learn, basic HTML tags, xml schema and Microsoft Visual.
