The purpose of this role is to provide operational/tactical/strategic contracting and procurement support to capital projects in the Americas region and support the central category management team for EPC.

The successful candidate will execute Shell’s Category Management & Contracting Process (CMCP), including Contract Strategy, Tactics and Contract Management activities for the assigned contract portfolio.

Collaborate with:

  • Internal (Shell) stakeholders in development and execution of procurement strategies driving towards value maximization. [Pre-award Phase]
  • Internal (Shell) & External (Suppliers) Stakeholders in ensuring delivery of maximum value via each of the awarded contract/commercial deal. [Post-award Phase]

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Execute Group Contract Management process for assigned operational/tactical contracts

  • Post award contract management in EPC contracts (Contractor relationship and performance management, Contract administration and variations/claims management)

  • Drive contractor performance; assist/conduct Business Performance Reviews (BPRs); ensure delivery & effectively manage contracts while continuously drive value improvement targets

  • Develop commercially competitive contracting & procurement strategies for assigned key spend categories which meets the Project/Business Demand while taking into account potential implementation of Global Strategies at local/regional/project level.

  • Conduct tenders & drive negotiations with Suppliers in accordance to Shell process.

  • Analyse CP business requirements and external market dynamics.

  • Manage one-off Purchase Orders.

  • Deliver end-to-end cost savings impacting bottom line.

  • Ensure Supply Chain Strategy supports Goal Zero Aspiration and is in compliance with all HSSE requirements

  • Implementation of robust CP tactics/strategy and contract documentation to secure third party services and materials in compliance with business need, quality requirements and on best commercial terms that fully accounts for all market capacity/capability and risks/opportunities.

  • Supporting the delivery of contracts awarded, which includes developing comprehensive post award contract management plans to enable value maximization for the organization.

Requirements:

A senior procurement professional with extensive prior experience is highly desired. This position requires a skilled Supply Chain professional with experience in project/EPC contracting, or a project specialist with proven commercial and contracting experience.

  • A degree level (Business/Engineering) and proven experience within CP.

  • Proven track record of execution excellence & delivering results.

  • 10+ years of relevant CP experience in Equipment/Fabrication/Maintenance/Goods/Services contract management in Capital Projects/Assets/manufacturing industry.

  • High-energy individual with tenacity, good people skills and the ability to take initiative and deliver results.

  • Proven experience in contract negotiations & complex tendering process

  • Good understanding of strategic, technical, legal, finance, taxation and commercial issues.

  • Understanding of Project CP (strategy, EPC contracting, project materials management, claims mgt, etc.) preferable

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills to seek understanding and to influence towards own goals.

  • Strong leadership and influencing skills to engage and influence senior stakeholders.

  • Ability to cope with complexity & uncertainty and proven adaptability.

  • Driven, Motivated & Passionate to drive positive change.

  • MCIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) Qualification preferred but not mandatory.
