Continuity Risk is one the key areas to be addressed for successful delivery of services and maintaining quality of services across Shell. With events around the globe the risk perspective is increasing and needs to be managed at adequate level.
This role will play a vital role in Shell’s Business Continuity Management (BCM) by supporting BCP applications such as the Shell Notification System and the BCP components of Collective. This role is hosted in Finance Operations (FO) and will primarily support Trading & Supply (T&S). However, the incumbent will as member of Shell’s BCP Centre of Excellence, also extend BCM practices across other Shell business, coordinate BCP framework in T&S across globe, at Global/Centre Level and be a partner in ensuring building effective risk assessment, fit for purpose BC documentation and in part required training to operations process groups. The coordination and support of the maintenance of the business continuity documents (BIA) in Collective, BC Plans & SharePoint sites.
Principal Accountabilities

Coordinating the T&S BCP process at global level and be a partner in ensuring building effective risk assessments and fit for purpose BC documentation.

Coordinate and facilitate the maintenance of the business continuity documentation (such as BIA/BCP’s).

Support and complete BC testing and reporting as per defined timeline and agreed success criteria

To support Global, Regional and Local BC teams and BC projects

To increase BCP awareness within Shell
-
To drive compliance for the annual assurance including delivery of robust and fit for purpose BCP’s, , meeting the governance requirements

To assist operations in identifying and classifying critical processes and implementing effective mitigation strategies. This includes the coordination and support of the maintenance of the Business Process Impact Assessments.

To interface with local BCM stakeholders (Crisis Management, IT Managers)

To contribute to the local SBO BCM team with expert knowledge

Ensure Continuous Improvement of the Business Continuity documentation

Scheduling SNS and Desktop Anywhere Online tests and follow up of the findings

The support of the office-wide Business Continuity testing and follow up of the findings

The BC advisor participates in the Global BCP Anchored Network, working with the T&S Business Continuity Manager and other local BC focal points to ensure consistent implementation of BCP policies, methodologies, and procedures throughout the Global Shell Trading & Supply Network.

The BC Advisor supports the local Business Continuity Management Teams (BCMT) preparing the BCMT meetings
Key Challenges
1. This is a key-role for Trading & Supply, requiring stakeholder management, including at VP and GM level.
2. Keep the BCP awareness up with all stakeholders (including senior leadership, BCP practitioners in T&S or assigned RDS Biz)
3. Ensure ongoing BCP culture in the businesses and processes and ensure timely and successful testing
Requirements:

Intermediate experience in BCM Practice

Strong collaboration , interpersonal and influencing skills in order to lead, coach and develop a virtual organization on BCM Subject.

Proven analytical & problem solving skills and open, flexible and innovative mind-set to develop practical responses for business requirements

Strong motivational skills, able to create a robust BCM culture in the organization

Ability to build credibility and relationship with staff and senior business

Preferably BC Certification and Expert Knowledge
