The Formulation & Components Lifecycle Management (FCLM) Team Lead is a key global business partner to preserve Shell’s leadership of the Lubricants business, in over 160 countries worldwide and >$1M B2B customers, by maintaining and enhancing a winning portfolio of products. You are responsible to uphold the data integrity and accuracy of all product formulations and components which are used extensively throughout Downstream. In addition, you will be providing stewardship in exciting Digitalisation and business integration projects to ensure regulatory compliance, manufacturing, and quality control are not compromised.
Position in the organization: The Formulation & Components Lifecycle Management (FCLM) Team Lead is a global role and manages a team of Formulation and Component Specialists who look after lubricants product formulation and component data and introductions, deliver business requirements through its lifecycle and meet targets for data accuracy and change requests completion. This role reports to the Products Portfolio and Pipeline Manager.
Main responsibilities

Deliver the targeted Time-to-Market metrics for Component and Formulation introduction.

Ensure formulation and component data is managed through its full lifecycle from conception to obsoletion in accordance with data quality standards and processes.

Lead to interface with the DPLM program team to support the ongoing deployments, especially for Phase 2C (expected Go-Live in 2023).

Drive regular cadences with key internal stakeholders and external Suppliers to prioritize, plan and coordinate key business activities.

Lead quality on-boarding program for new joiners.

Identify gaps in the team’s competencies and develop upskilling plans to improve in providing expert advice on all product portfolios and components.

Develop and coach for performance.

Ensure business continuity via developing contingency plans to mitigate business risks.

Identify potentially obsolete formulations and components to minimize complexity.

Liaise with Technology Managers to ensure consistency of additive specifications agreed with suppliers.
Experience/qualifications required:

A strong track record in team leadership and onboarding new staff in technically challenging areas is desirable.

Excellent stakeholders’ management skills.

Attention to detail, task-oriented, and highly adaptable to changes.

Ability to independently resolve issues, collaborate, and work with all levels of the organization, virtually or F2F.

A good understanding of Supply Chain Business would be an asset.

Strong record of results delivery against stretched targets.

Ability to manage projects in a virtual environment and effectively engage groups of stakeholders.

Be resilient under pressure and balance own and team workload versus priorities agreed with stakeholders.

Strong CI/Learner mindset.

Formal qualification to degree level in Chemistry or Chemical Science or equivalent is an advantage but not essential
