The opportunity

As a Cyber Security Data Privacy Senior Consultant you would become a part of Data Protection and Privacy team where you will play an active part in helping our clients protect themselves against the evolving Data Privacy landscape.

As a Senior Consultant within our Cyber team you will be able to participate in Global projects assigned to Data Privacy domain supporting various sectors and regions. We are looking for a Data Privacy specialist with demonstrated experience in developing data privacy strategies and implementing solutions to provide data security, privacy and integrity.

EY’s Cybersecurity Practice functions as a center of excellence to assist our consulting practices in planning, pursuing, delivering and managing large, complex full lifecycle initiatives along with providing expertise in leading practices, methods, and resources in the space of Cybersecurity. The Data Protection & Privacy competency within the Cybersecurity practice is a critical competency that supports our clients across all industry sectors.

Your key responsibilities

As a Senior Consultant in the Data Protection & Privacy competency, you will help clients define technical and business requirements for data privacy solutions as well as develop business processes and policies related to controlling access to data. This includes helping clients to identify, understand and protect their most critical data throughout the data lifecycle. Engagements range from identifying high value assets to developing data classification schemes based on Data Privacy Assessments, standards and guidelines and implementing processes and technologies to provide leading data privacy capabilities.

You and your team will implement and advise clients on multiple data privacy products and solutions. The skills we are looking for are as follows:

  • Work Experience: 3 to 5 years
  • Thorough understanding of various Data privacy regulations and privacy concepts (for e.g. GDPR, CCPA, GLBA, HIPAA etc.)
  • Experience in performing Data Privacy Impact Assessments/Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs)
  • Experience in developing data protection privacy strategies, roadmaps and frameworks.
  • Experience in planning and implementation of data protection and privacy controls
  • Experience in creating Data privacy related training content and imparting cross functional training on Data Privacy
  • Experience in responding to Data Privacy Request for Proposals (RFPs)
  • Candidate should remain abreast of the industry trends and updated on Data Privacy standards, regulations and related technologies
  • Good Understanding of Risk Assessment Frameworks
  • Candidate should be able to prioritize tasks and work accurately under pressure in order to meet deadlines
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills
  • Understand and be able to implement all aspects of the ISO 27001:2013 standard
  • Create and maintain ISMS documentation specific to each implementation
  • Work with local area contacts and management for risk treatment and acceptance
  • Candidate should remain abreast of the industry trends and updated on Data Privacy standards, regulations and related technologies
  • Good Understanding of Risk Assessment Frameworks
  • Candidate should be able to prioritize tasks and work accurately under pressure in order to meet deadlines
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Bachelor's degree and approximately 1-3 years of related work experience.
  • Knowledge of general security concepts and methods such as vulnerability assessments, data classification, privacy assessments, incident response, security policy creation, enterprise security strategies, architectures and governance.
  • Basic understanding of networking (TCP/IP, OSI model), operating system fundamentals (Windows, UNIX, mainframe), security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, etc.) and application programming/scripting languages (C, Java, Perl, Shell).
  • Demonstrated experience in three or more of the following areas:
    • Privacy Impact Assessment
    • Privacy by default and Privacy by design
    • Data asset classification and privacy policies
    • Awareness of Security standards, Data Privacy frameworks, EU and US Data Privacy regulations
    • Digital Rights Management (DRM)
    • Logging, monitoring, and security event management
    • Secure information storage

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • BE/B.Tech/M.Tech/M.S./MBA or equivalent.
  • Certifications related to Data Privacy such as CIPP-E, CIPM etc.
  • Functional and non-functional privacy requirements definition and documentation experience

  • Ability to independently research and solve technical issues
  • Demonstrated integrity in a professional environment
  • Knowledge of core Information Security concepts related to Governance, Risk & Compliance
  • Excellent teaming skills
  • Good social, communication and technical writing skills
  • Ability to work in and adapt to a changing environment
