The Global Vendor Management Organization (GVMO) optimizes the value of EY’s strategic vendor relationships and contracts via a consistent vendor management approach, best practices and supporting technologies. By preventing value leakage, the GVMO helps realize the full value of our strategic relationships and contracts.

The GVMO optimizes software license usage, drives transformation initiatives, works to maximize credits, rebate and innovation funds, manage complex change orders, tracks SLAs and KPIs to enable performance, supports escalations, and co-ordinates stakeholders across EY.

The GVMO brings a common operating model across all aspects of vendor management, comprising the following core disciplines:

  • Contract Management
  • Performance Management
  • Commercial Management
  • Relationship Management

Underpinning the GVMO, within the Technology Vendor Ecosystem function, is the Telecoms Team, which supports country member firms and Service Owners in managing telecoms expenses, contracts and vendors. Focus is on mobile services and wireline voice/data. The team works very closely with Technology Procurement function providing support on sourcing activities.

The opportunity

Sitting within the Telecoms Team, this role will support GVMO strategy in term of Telecom expense management. This includes the implementation, over a multi-year period of time, and administration of a Telecom Expense Management (TEM) service, provided by a third-party vendor to manage local mobile expenses and contracts across multiple EY member firms to support internal service owners in managing voice and data wireline expenses to keep telecoms contracts and cost under control and optimized to ultimately provide and be accountable for an end-to-end service to our internal customers, leveraging the TEM vendor

The candidate will also become a trusted advisor, especially in the mobile area, providing guidance and best practices to managed countries.

Your key responsibilities

  • Actively contribute in TEM tool implementation process, following the deployment plan
  • Understand specific needs in the countries where the service is to be deployed and be able to transform them in requirements to be discussed with the TEM vendor.
  • Reach an excellent proficiency level on the TEM tool utilization
  • Supervise TEM operations where the service is already deployed; this includes
    • Definition of reports on mobile and fixed spend/volumes
    • Dispute management with Telecom carriers
    • Inventory management
    • Invoice audit and optimization
    • Provisioning
  • Day by day operational relationship with the TEM vendor, acting as a main interface between GVMO and the vendor in managed countries
    • Services requests follow up
    • Incident and change management
    • Escalations
    • Participate to Services reviews
    • TEM Vendor performance
  • Facilitate communication between local carriers and the TEM vendor
  • Keep relationship with member firms contacts and stakeholders in managed countries (provide reporting and analysis as needed)
  • Work in collaboration with Technology Procurement and provide relevant input during RFP and contracts negotiation processes.
  • Keep relationship with local carries to monitor overall performance of contracts and service (contract compliance) and minimize value leakage

Skills and attributes for success

  • Fluent English skills in speech and writing
  • At least 2-year experience in dealing with technical and commercial aspects of Telecommunications (fixed voice, data and mobile) in telecoms market worldwide (billing, contracts, tariff models, technical infrastructure)
  • A good understanding of Telecoms contracts and contractual language as well as an appreciation of the complex global, member firm and entity organizational structures that the contracts operate across
  • Advanced experience in data analysis and visualization

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, comfortable working virtually and independently
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
  • Ability to learn quickly and work in a high pace, agile environment
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, managing multiple priorities effectively

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience in dealing with TEM providers and TEM operations on a global scale
  • Experience in operational vendors management
  • Solid interpersonal relationship management skills
