The opportunity

Join us as a Manager and get a chance to truly impact lives of people by working with us on a variety of Legal Research and Regulatory Mapping projects. You will have the opportunity to work with us and our global teams on diverse Legal Research and Regulatory Mapping projects, which are tailor-made to address the regulatory compliance hurdles our clients face each day.

Your key responsibilities

As a Manager you would be required to assist the Legal Research and Regulatory Mapping teams in preparing bespoke compliance solutions.

Your responsibilities would include:

  • Working with clients on analysing regulatory requirements and supporting the build of solutions to help the investment banks, asset managers and hedge funds to ensure they meet their regulatory requirements
  • Understanding overall client requirements to help develop project scope and drive internal discussions on resource requirements and creation of project plan
  • Conducting trainings on compliance areas for team members and guiding them with subject matter requirements
  • Escalating project specific issues and other relevant issues, as appropriate, to the relevant stakeholders
  • Taking ownership and providing feedback to juniors
  • Staying abreast of regulatory and legislative changes that may impact the client
  • Informing and advising regarding proposed and pending regulatory changes
  • Taking ownership of processes and controls within the team, driving the development of methods to improve processes and/or controls to ensure that these are efficient, effective, and relevant
  • Handling responsibility assigned to him/her quickly and accurately
  • Working on multiple projects at any given time and acting as a project manager or direct report to a project manager.

Skills and attributes for success

  • To do the work we do, we require people with a specific skill set.
  • To qualify for the role, you must have (Stick to requirements that are truly required; try to limit to 4 bullet points}
  • Law Degree (with understanding of financial world); or MBA (with good understanding of regulatory frameworks)
  • 5 – 8 years of prior experience
  • Professional proficiency in English, with in-depth knowledge of the rules of the English language, standards of style, punctuation, and grammar. Also, excellent legal research, writing and organizational skills
  • knowledge of additional language - any European language: French, German, Italian, Spanish or Dutch etc.
  • Strong attention to detail along with the ability to understand and follow specific, detailed instructions
  • Fundamental understanding of financial concepts and good hold on legal and compliance areas
  • Ability to drive team’s interpretation and understanding of statutes in light of financial products and services
  • Excellent analytical and logical skills

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience in regulatory compliance related work with prior experience/knowledge of financial industry as well as experience with project management
  • Ability to drive team’s interpretation and understanding of statutes in light of financial products and services
  • Outstanding administrative and communication skills, mature business sense, and ability to perform in a dynamic, time-sensitive environment
  • Strong knowledge of and ability to apply office software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
