Job Description
The Business Continuity AVP will ensure a viable continuity plan exists for all operations and supporting technologies across our Global Delivery / Institutional Services business units. They will assist and coordinate the planning and testing of critical department personnel relocation, technical recovery solutions and incident response. The successful candidate will collaborate with senior business and/or technical units on the development of strategic continuity planning recoverability solutions.
The Business Continuity AVP will validate that solutions comply with corporate policies, standards, and guidelines, as well as making certain that any business-owned manual procedures and alternate solutions are viable for the duration of any major business interruption. The Business Continuity AVP will also identify and manage projects to enhance continuity plans and resolve gaps to ensure that appropriate business, application, and technology continuity solutions exist.
Business Continuity AVPs serve as subject matter experts, and understand dependencies for business processes, business functions, applications, technology, and internal and external parties related to their business. In addition, Business Continuity Officers participate in and/or coordinate efforts to resolve issues related to cross-unit dependencies and activities initiated by the Enterprise Continuity Services team.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Business Continuity Director (BCD) role: may be implemented to support business continuity efforts for planning, testing and recovery including, where appropriate, some of the following activities:
- Subject Matter Expert input to the BIA and plan solution build out process
- Manage local plan management, testing, ensure execution of continuity requirements, and ad hoc request within each business area plan (If applicable)
- Maintain all relevant Business Continuity Planning / IT Disaster Recovery data in the enterprise continuity system
- Identify, escalate and report continuity risk to BCD as identified
- Responsible for understanding First Line Of Defense plans as it relates to the functions being performed, including understanding of any employee specific solutions to be utilized during a disruption event
- Responsible for participating in testing of specific business continuity solutions as driven by the plans maintained by the Business Unit
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years operations experience (continuity or IT experience a plus).
- Business Continuity Planning experience (desired)
- Strong analytical, research and organizational skills
- Strong computer skills including MS office and BCP tools
- Strong written, oral and presentation skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Candidate must be able to work independently, be flexible in regards to day to day activities and multi-tasking, and work well under periods of pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
- Advanced knowledge and skill in Excel and Access a plus.
