Who we are looking for

We are looking for a highly motivated, detail oriented individual, with a previous experience as Product owner or Product Manager, and with a finance or IT background, to play a key role in the product management and development of the Analytics Engine.

State Street’s Analytics platform is a web based application providing a full suite of analytics, which give clients insight into the risks and performance of their investment portfolios. Supporting all asset classes, the platform computes analytics such as: stress testing, value at risk (VaR), position specific analytics for derivatives (delta, gamma, vega etc.) and fixed income characteristics such as duration and convexity. The reporting offering also includes Liquidity and ESG indicators.

What you will be responsible for Role:

The primary responsibility for this Product Manager role is to execute on the product strategy for the analytics department, supporting its products and services. At its core our business is a calculation engine and, in an effort to drive further scale and efficiencies in our business model, we require a product manager to partner with the end-users and assist in the review and re-engineering of these processes, with a dual purpose:

  • support the reimplementation of the engine on a cloud environment

  • include the design and implementation of new features

This role can be performed in a hybrid model, where you can balance work from home and office to match your needs and role requirements.

What you will be responsible for

  • Pro-actively seek out new product ideas to enhance our data and analytics offering

  • Gather requirements from clients, business users and subject matter experts

  • Write detailed business specs to streamline existing processes and develop new features, or re-develop existing features on the new cloud based solution.

  • Work in an agile development team to deliver value add solutions.

  • Work closely with the IT and Financial Engineering team to design, implement and deploy these solutions

  • Candidate will be expected to be a self-starter, highly motivated with a strong quantitative background and the ability to run and manage projects in isolation

  • Display strong leadership qualities and build effective relationships with teams within the organization

  • The works have conceptual, creative and individual character. The effects of work is original vision of solutions, which are unique, individual intellectual creation. The works aims to acquiring knowledge and skills in order to develop new products, processes and services or to make significant improvements to existing products, processes and services. The activities have independent performance and they are largely original. The result of the work are, for example, macros, codes, tests, manual tests, test scenarios, scripts and stories

What we value:

  • Experience with Agile software development an advantage

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills – ability to synthesize complex technical information and deliver updates to senior management, clients and other stake holders succinctly

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Innovative in identifying product direction and opportunities

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Min 4 years’ experience in a related role: Product Owner, Product Manager, Program manager or Large Project Manager.

  • Experience working with a financial, accounting or data platform.

  • Experience with Cloud Based Project is a strong plus.

  • Strong quantitative finance expertise: Market risk & analytics, VaR, stress testing, fixed income analytics (duration, convexity etc), performance analytics & attribution, OTC derivatives pricing models

  • CFA, CQF, FRM, CIPM or PRMIA an advantage

  • Strong IT skills:

  • SQL or Oracle and relational database management systems

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Office

  • Proven ability to lead complex projects to completion and work to tight deadlines

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/ Mathematics/ Economics/ IT/ Engineering or equivalent
