Your role
We’re looking for an experienced Software Engineer to manage a team of Software engineers we will contribute to build next generation Data Products required for Market Regulations reporting. As part of Agile@UBS you will form part of a dedicated Crew focusing on specific outcomes aligned to the CDIO Strategic Imperatives .
Your role will require you to:
•act as a people and development manager to Tech Engineers you will be critical in managing their craft as a mentor supporting growth and career progression and ensure high standards of leadership is applied across the delivery of the crew.
•support and enable the chapter with new / emerging practices, learning opportunities and capability building
•as a culture carrier you will be required to connect chapters to the wider UBS community of guilds, engage as thought and action leader beyond the borders of the crew
•work with Crew Leads and Agile coaches to understand and resolve challenges, opportunities and areas of collaboration.
•support the broader strategy and goals of their organization to ensure chapter members are equipped to understand in their context.
•contribute as an active member of a delivery pod to the specific outcomes and key results defined

Your team
You'll be working in a Crew aligned to the CDIO IB Market Regulations Stream supporting our newly created chapters to embed the unified model of Agile@UBS and take our platform to the cloud support UBS ESG outcomes.
We are a team of dedicated professionals, who are looking to build out our next generation cloud only based platform to solve complex enterprise wide problems including bringing innovate concepts such as a DataMesh as part of the UBS cloud strategy.
Your expertise
•strong servant leader who can garner respect from individuals, puts their needs first, and with a strong attitude of transparency
•a strong sense of continuous improvement to continually be growing one’s own craft, learning new tools and sharing techniques across community.
•ability to communicate effectively well within team, across teams and in larger community of practice, facilitate difficult discussions and agile ceremonies.
•deep understanding of the software development craft, with focus on prem and cloud based (Azure), event driven solutions and architectures including BigData technology.
•experience delivering solutions using industry standard technologies such as kafka, data bricks, Kubernetes, containers, GitLab and CI/CD pipelines – however continuous learning aptitude is more important.
•Ideally expert java core hands on technologist, with deep understanding of TDD
•ability to analyse complex trading, order management and execution requirements and design and implement solutions.
•Successfully applied solutions to meet non-functional requirements such as stability, capacity, latency and throughput.
•A proven team player with strong leadership skills, who is able to work in a collaborative way across business units, teams and regions
•hands-on experience of agile software development practices and methodologies, especially scrum
•strong written and verbal communication skills in English and a desire to work as part of a global team
•track record of technical leadership and architecture design in an enterprise environment
