State Street is seeking a motivated and energetic Privacy Engineer to assist the Privacy Engineering team and become an integral part of our global privacy compliance team. General knowledge of privacy compliance, data protection, risk, and/or audit disciplines is required. This role will work collaboratively with the team to support privacy risk assessments and reporting requirements. This position is ideal for an individual with a background in compliance or legal, or someone eager to transition into a compliance or privacy career. What you will be responsible for
As a Privacy Engineer, Officer you will
- Assist in privacy-related risk assessments in accordance with Article 35 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
- Assist in maintaining and reporting on the firm's Record of Processing Activities.
- Support the monitoring of new and changing global privacy and data protection laws and regulations.
- Track and provide monthly updates on the status of various Privacy Engineering functions through the tracking of metrics
- Handle special projects as needed

- Prior privacy, compliance, legal, audit or related experience is helpful; alternatively, a desire to transition into a compliance or privacy career
- Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint skills are essential; Archer GRC experience is a plus
Education & Preferred Qualifications
- Prior privacy, compliance, or legal experience desired
- Understanding of global data privacy regulations, including the GDPR
- Experience working with remote / geographically dispersed teams
- Privacy or IT audit certifications are favorable but not required
