Your role
• Implement (mainly in R and Python) and maintain stress testing models for UBS.
• Participate in code reviews and product testing to ensure that all code adheres to best practices and standards, troubleshoot and debug code to identify and fix errors, and optimize existing code to improve performance and scalability.
• Implement and test software applications to support stress testing models for UBS, collaborating with other members of the IT team to design and implement new features and functionalities, writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• Produce and review technical documentation for internal stakeholders and regulators (UAT testing strategy and plan, model implementation documents, standard operating procedure documents, target operating model documents).
• Enjoy initiating corrective actions for product deficiencies and providing senior technical expertise for software program troubleshooting.
Your team
You’ll be working in the firmwide stress testing models crew in Krakow. Our role is to develop and reshape UBS's stress testing framework for assessing the impact of global macro-economic scenarios on the firm’s profitability and capital adequacy. The framework captures multiple risk types across all businesses world-wide.
Your expertise
You have
• A Bachelor or Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, or a related field.
• Strong programming background with expert-level skills in Python and/or R, including experience with common libraries such as Numpy, Pandas, PySpark and/or renv, dplyr, ggplot2.
• Hands-on experience in managing testing efforts throughout the entire code life cycle, developing test strategies and test plans, and managing test design and execution.
• Industry experience in software QA (developing and automating testing code), and in Agile frameworks (in particular using Jira, Gitlab) is a plus.
• Exposure/experience in financial stress testing.
• Very good communication skills and the ability to explain technical topics clearly and intuitively, both written and orally.

• You are familiar with a wide range of technologies and you can troubleshoot software programs with confidence.
• You can assist IT colleagues in design and scale standard operating procedures, migration of models and applications to cloud solutions (e.g. Re-Platforming, Re-Hosting).
• You have an understanding of financial business and stress models developed by banks for internal risk management and regulatory purposes.
• You are team-orientated, while able to complete tasks independently with high quality standards.
• You are fluent in English, additional languages are welcomed.
