Senior Network Engineer

Purpose of the role:
We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer to help design and architect our Global Network Infrastructure. You will be part of a global team distributed over three infrastructure technology hubs. As a Senior Network Engineer at Amway, you will be the subject matter expert in all networks related infrastructure and services. In this role, you are designing and architecting Amway’s global network infrastructure, to support business requirements for performance, functionality, capacity, costs & security. Your ability to work collaboratively will be valued in this role as you work broadly with many internal clients and/or other Technology teams.
You will lead the design, setup, and implementation of network engineering projects, mindful of quality, cost, and timely completion. Your capabilities to lead and support technical projects independently, together with strong communication skills are a key requirement for this position. You should be open-minded and motivated to work in a multicultural international environment.
The Network Engineering Team, is a multicultural team of currently 4 team members, focused to design and architect Amway’s Global Network Infrastructure. This team is responsible for the network infrastructure related portfolio of Amway, including WAN, LAN, Wireless, Security, Data Center, Load balancing, Cloud and others. The teams works very close together with cross functional partners like Platform Engineering or Market IT Teams as well as our Network Operations Team responsible for the day-to-day operations.
What you’ll do:
- Maintain and design the Wide and Local Area Networks of Amway’s 700+ locations worldwide
- Design, maintain and support Amway’s global network infrastructure, to support business requirements for performance, functionality, capacity, costs & security
- Network Modeling and Governance to assure performance & cost requirements are sufficiently met
- Analyze business and applications requirements to develop technical network solutions for corporate data, voice and video traffic
- Develop technology roadmaps and manage technology vendors for all network infrastructure-related technologies and systems
- Help to resolve complex problems with many variables and high criticality
- Develop and evolve the network infrastructure towards a modern & harmonized environment
- Develop and design network automation tools and scripts to drive cloud adoption and the development to a Software-defined network
- Provides analytical input to other IT teams to resolve and optimize performance
- Lead and supervise network projects to assure they meet expectations in cost and timing
- Closely partner with different groups within the Technology organization as well as business units to clearly understand their requirements, implement technology solutions, and own the resulting systems
- Represent the team and manager at business and project meetings
- Participate in the team on-call rotation and provide Level 3 and Level 4 support for high critical incidents and escalations
What you’ll need:
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in Network Engineering in an international environment
- Mandatory Cisco CCNP Routing & Switching, desirable Cisco CCIE Routing & Switching
- Thorough knowledge of all network technologies, including Data Center, Wireless and Security
- Strong experience in deploying global wide area and production networks
- Strong background with Network vendors like Cisco, Palo Alto, F5 and other network technology leaders
- Extensive experience in defining standards, life cycle management and cost analysis for data network hardware and network management tools
- Demonstrated experience in Public Cloud technologies with strong knowledge and expertise in deploying network architecture in the Cloud
- Great troubleshooting skills and experience with network analyzing tools like Wireshark
- Understanding of ITIL practices and experience in leading and working in an agile project environment
- Capability to lead and support technical or business projects independently
- Very strong communication skills and able to articulate clearly and in a non-IT language
- Fluent in English both spoken and written
- Logical and analytic thinking with a focus on details
- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and to work under pressure
