What you’ll do:
  • Makes supply recommendations based upon research and analysis within own range of responsibilities.
  • Researching and analyzing market intelligence data for trends in commodity or other market-relevant data.
  • Providing key input into departmental and category strategies and tactical plans in readiness for execution.
  • Delivering required business results by appropriately applying the concepts needed to determine/develop sourcing strategies
  • Can closely work with suppliers and internal team to co-develop and co-create the new products in different categories. Providing key inputs and urge to deep dive in the development of products together with partners.
  • Evaluate, cross functionally lead and develop plans to improve upon supplier management and performance through procurement mastery principles and ensure results are tracked and reported via metrics and scorecards. Set improvement targets and achievements in consideration with other cross-functional departments.
  • Actively uses available processes, tools and technology to achieve the lowest total cost.
  • Lead in complex negotiations and responsibility for legal terms and conditions of trade, ensuring all documents are completed, approved and available and when appropriate that renewal is undertaken in a timely manner.
  • Proactively leads identified supplier issues and regularly take lead on other complex supplier scenarios. Follow policy and procedure guidelines as defined within procurement mastery and document all decisions for authorization.
  • Assess and identify opportunities for improvement and recommend new alternatives to ensure a reliable supply of products, materials and/or services.
  • Make strategic supply recommendations based upon research and analysis within own range of responsibilities.
  • Work with the supply base, and identify enhancements to current supply chain operations and cost management activities.
  • Develop, maintain and proactively monitor and share marketplace information to allow continuous assessment of total supply cost structures.
  • Attend appropriate trade shows and external sourcing events.
  • Take lead on complex market analysis as needed to bring new information around the spend category.
  • Highly capable of delivering clearly documented robust sourcing strategy and proactively leads others in the development of such procurement mastery principles. Is able to provide strategic direction from such analysis to ensure best business decisions are taken. Able to articulate results to all levels of the organization.
  • Lead in effectively maintaining and enforcing effective and cooperative working relationships with other departments within the organization to deliver the most optimal business approach and corporate needs. Is in direct contact with all possible levels with the organization.
  • Active participant and potential lead of Global sub HPN, GSST and member of value chain forums to actively represent respective spend area and regional procurement department in total. Capable in representing cross geographical procurement responsibilities at all levels.
What you’ll need:
  • General business relevant degree qualification.
  • Minimum 4 – 5 Years as Buyer Level 2, Coach / Mentor, and potential staff management.
  • Required Knowledge & Skills and/or Related Experience:
  • Fluent in English, a second language will be positively valued.
  • Minimal supervision and review for accuracy and judgment based on the execution of long-term strategies and supply chain goals.
  • Provides high-level feedback to upline keeping appraised of key activities.
  • Fully capable of presenting procurement responsibilities/achievements and goals to the director and VP level in the organization on ad hoc (non-preparation) basis.
  • Identifies new strategies and tactics through innovative thinking and industry benchmarking across all areas. Makes short- and long-term strategic supply recommendations in a proactive approach.
  • Regularly negotiates and is seen as an expert in delivering “win/win” longer-term agreements with suppliers to avoid price increases, expedite delivery, obtain beneficial terms and institute programs that bring favorable business results in cost reductions and process improvements.
  • Delivers proactive ideation within the team (informs upline) to work with the supply base, via an innovative thinking approach, to identify enhancements to current supply chain operations and cost management activities; influences the implementation through sharing achievements and success with Amway customers.
  • Requirement for frequent travel in and outside office hours
