Job description:

Purpose & Accountabilities :

Shell is hiring a Data Scientist in the Legal Services Global Operations (LSGO) organization. Its anticipated that the role will be responsible for assisting in the implementation and development of Shell Legal’s business intelligence program, utilizing Data Science to flag areas to streamline operations and develop measurable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
The role will take a central role in further developing the standard reporting offerings of LSGO (pre-fabricated reports and templates), as well as fielding future ad hoc requests from legal as needed.


Dimensions :


On a daily basis you will collaborate with members across the Central Legal Operations team within LSGO, having regular catchups with the Central Legal Operations Manager and Reporting Coordinator to ensure alignment on key deliverables and strategy.

Requirements:

  • PowerBI:

    • Minimum of 3 - 5 years on Power BI Application development

    • Experience in connecting Power BI Desktop to various data sources including Sharepoint, SAP HANA, SAP BW, SSIS, MS SQL, and Azure SQL Server, Azure Analysis Services

    • Extensive experience in Power BI app workspace

    • Highly Proficient in Data Model, Data set, and Data Gateway in Power BI

    • Knowledge in Power BI Mobile, Embed Codes

  • Expert Level in Dashboard Development 5+ years (Excel, Tableau, etc.)

  • Proficiency in design/development of dashboard, reports, and drill downs

  • Expertise in writing DAX queries, calculated measures, parameters, advanced calculation (Aggregate, Date, Logical, String, Table).

  • Ability to build and interpret different visualizations using Slicers, Lines, Pies, Histograms, Maps, Scatter, Bullets, Heat Maps, Tree maps, and etc.

  • Extensive experience in Web API, add-on development, Custom Visual and Groups Creation, Row Level Security

  • Experience working within a global team and maintaining, developing, and innovating reporting templates

  • Fundamental knowledge of data warehouses, metadata management, database technologies, functions, procedures, views, data connection, ETL

  • Flexibility working across differing time zones (Local, KL, NL, UK, and US CST), with the ability to work remotely when appropriate (strong at home internet connection).

  • Take ownership and accountability on delivering and innovating on work assignments

  • Communicate and partner effectively with stakeholders and junior developers

  • Ability to strategically critically think and be able to innovate when no clear project plan exists.

  • Passion for continuous improvement, both in analytic design and utilisation, and identifying key trends across Shell.


Additional Requested Expertise:

  • Database Knowledge

    • Strong understanding in SQL, T-SQL, MS SQL database, Sharepoint, SAP, SERP

    • Expertise in data mapping (primary/secondary key mapping)

    • Javascript programming experience (2 years)

    • Python programming experience

    • Web API experience
