Responsibilities:
The role of the depositary is to be understood as a supervision role and therefore, it should ensure, among other things, that appropriate procedures and processes are in place within the management entities and any service provided appointed (by them or the fund) such as fund administrator and transfer agent.
The depositary is also required to perform its role in an effective manner, ensuring that appropriate attention is devoted to important areas of oversight.
In order to fulfil these guidelines, the Depositary Due Diligence Officer will support the Depositary Due Diligence Analyst from Luxembourg in the performance of the due diligence process on the management entities as well as the Fund Administrators and the Transfer Agents.
The Due Diligence Officer will be responsible, jointly with the Due Diligence Analyst, for the completion of the due diligence missions.
This requires in particular:
- To perform a monthly review of the scope of the Management Entities as well as their delegates
- To initialize the Due Diligence process by defining the scope, identifying the contacts and points of attention, preparing the engagement letter and sending it to the clients together with the Due Diligence Questionnaire.
- To ensure the follow-up and the reception in due time of the requested information and escalate, as the case may be, to the due diligence analyst in order to decide on the action(s) to be undertaken on specific blocking points.
- To perform a quantitative analysis of the information received and make a first qualitative scoring of the processes and procedures described by the auditee.
- To summarize the approach, the source of information, the various stages of the conduct of the due diligence in order to prepare the final report of due diligence
- To maintain the due diligence
- To participate in the periodic review of the procedures governing the due diligence activities
Requirements:
- University degree (Finance, Economics, Law) or equivalent professional experience
- Preferably 3 years of experience in the investment fund industry
- Very good English language skills (preferably combined with working proficiency French).
- Good working knowledge of UCITS/AIFMD regulatory requirements.
- Experience in Private Capital Funds as well as in depositary bank are a strong asset
- Strong analytical and numeracy skills to assess fund impacts, identify trends to help maintain an efficient and effective oversight model.
- Highly motivated, energetic self-starter, who takes ownership of issues and drives them to resolution
- Strong interpersonal skills and good team player
- Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently in an efficient and organised manner.
