Purpose of the role:
Global Controllership Lead is responsible for oversight and quality control over US GAAP reporting compliance of Amway entities. The person in this role will be managing the internal control environment and work with various GBS and affiliate teams to ensure US GAAP reporting integrity is maintained. He / She will ensure correct adaptation of US GAAP changes and will provide technical accounting US GAAP guidance for GBS operational teams.
The person in this role will collaborate closely with the Global Controllership function in the implementation of global internal controls policies and procedures.
Global Controllership Lead will be part of Krakow GBS structure actively adopting Lean principles to Amway financial operations as well as contributing to the implementation of standardization projects for financial and accounting processes.
What you’ll do:
- Perform monthly and quarterly B/S reviews for US GAAP reporting compliance and periodic review of B/S accounts reconciliations
- Provide technical US GAAP accounting guidance to operational teams (AP, AR, RTR), act as 1st Level contact for accounting inquiries
- Support Global Controllership team in preparation of consolidated financial statements
- Ensure proper application of Amway accounting policies and procedures
- Clarifying and updating GBS teams with any changes in accounting policies and provide consultations for complex transactions
- Train GBS teams on accounting topics and the latest changes in accounting
- Review the annual reporting packages and contribute to the execution of the annual reporting timetable
- Support external audit process working closely with Global Controllership and GBS operational teams
- Analyzing, investigating, and clarifying financial entries, documents, and reports
- Independently coordinate work of different stakeholders, setting due dates and executing deliverables to complete US GAAP reporting on time and in good quality
- Liaise with the GBS operational teams on the implementation of standardization solutions and continuous improvements for financial and accounting processes.
- Close cooperation with other teams inside the Finance function (GBS Operations, Tax, Treasury, Process Excellence) to ensure smooth processes execution and effective financial support for business functions
- Single point of contact for cross-functional clients & multiple business disciplines
- Provides solutions to a wide range of difficult issues and independently develops solutions
- Leads complex projects & programs
- Acts as accounting lead on client cross-functional projects
- May provide day-to-day leadership for a team of accounting professionals
- Incumbents are developing toward a supervisory or management position
What you’ll need:
- Very good understanding of US GAAP reporting principles
- Hands-on experience in financial reporting for a group of legal entities
- Technical accounting knowledge of group consolidation will be a strong asset
- Fluent English
- University degree required in Finance or Accounting
- A preferred candidate should have accounting qualification completed or in progress (e.g. Polish Chief Accountant – KIBR, ACCA, CIMA, CPA)
- Experience with ERP accounting systems – EBS Oracle is preferable
- Strong analytical skills and attention to details
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team in a matrix organization
- Ability to work with senior stakeholders and communicate with the business
