What’s the role:
As an Accountant, you will conduct all accounting activities related to tickets creation and Book vs Physical reconciliation of plants according to stock reconciliation and recording policy.
Involvement in Hydro Carbon processes – Stock Recording and Reconciliation with the possibility to learn E2E process (Contracts & Pricing, HM Exchange, Stock Valuation). It will be possible to investigate the end-to-end Hydrocarbon process and find further areas for improvement.
This position is to ensure that Shell has a true and precise picture of purchases/sales transactions and stock level for financial reporting purposes in the long Hydrocarbon Management chain by managing processes on daily basis with month-end closing activities and performing required controls.
More specifically, your role will include:

Monitor, chase, identify and discuss reasons for open or delayed nominations for hydrocarbon product movement.

Monitoring of movements of hydrocarbon products on plants (exchange, in transit, 3rd party).

Enter ticket transactions related to third-party stock locations accurately and on time, subject to contract and nomination issues being resolved.

Maximize completeness and accuracy of product movement recording at period ends and liaise with reconciliation teams to ensure accurate accrual.

Provide timely and accurate performance reporting on recording and reconciliation processes.

Operate cooperatively with other teams and stakeholders providing mutual assistance where possible to deliver overall success.
Requirements:
We are keen to hear from candidates who have a bachelor's or master's degree, preferably in Economics, Accounting, or Finance. Beyond that, we'd hope to see as many following as possible on You CV:

1-3 years of experience in a relevant accounting environment.

Very Good English (written and oral) is a must; German is desirable.

Good working knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel.

Good knowledge of GSAP accounting system is desirable.

Financial processes knowledge is desirable.

Knowledge of accounting rules with a focus on stock accounting is expected.

Ability to communicate effectively within a team and with business partners.
