Purpose:

In this position, you will have the opportunity to manage and lead a team of master data specialists to shape and deliver the project deliverables within the cost and schedule boundaries. The projects will primarily deal with data cleanse operation for Supply chain data (Materials, Services, Vendors and Contracts) for various Shell assets as part of ERP system migration from current version of SAP to SAP S4/Hana.

You will work with a diverse and multinational team across different functions such as C&P Operations, IT, Finance, Operations and maintenance, External SAP consultants etc. You will be a part of this “once in a generation opportunity” to overhaul the master data set up for SHELL Assets supply chain data to make the procurement and inventory management process more efficient with the end objective that right materials and services are available at the right time and at the lowest cost.

You will deliver by inspiring your Project team and demonstrating effective leadership and collaboration skills for a virtual team where project resources do not report directly to the Project Manager. You must be able to partner effectively across different teams both internal and sometimes external to Shell. Typical Project Management responsibilities include, but is not limited to scope/budget management, risk/mitigation, issues/resolution, project reporting, stakeholder management etc. Project outcomes must result in CP/SC Data being reliable, connected and driving value.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Accountable to lead and deliver a Supply Chain Data cleanse and preparation per the new data design. Deliver individual projects in line with Project Management best practices suitable to the context, size, and complexity of individual projects.

  • Understand and ensure data cleanse and development requirements are well understood and to ensure agreed business outcome will be delivered.

  • Ensure the right capabilities and resources are put together to deliver the scope successfully with a view to maximise business benefits to the asset.

  • Manage the delivery risks by identifying key risks and mitigation strategies to bring the risks to an acceptable level.

  • Partner with both internal (and external stakeholders (vendors etc) as required to ensure smooth project delivery.

  • Indirectly develop a highly talented and engaged community (without direct line management) through coaching/leadership from the front while empowering staff during the lifecycle of each Project. Enable people to succeed by removing barriers to performance, providing development feedback to staff and their line managers.

  • Leverage on insights internally and externally to pursue best practices and capability building to meet Project excellence and Data excellence as required by each Project. Ensure proper upskilling and implementation as required in the CP Data Projects community.

Special Challenges:

  • Flexible working time required depending on the location of Project/stakeholders.

  • Diverse virtual stakeholders across various functions and various locations

  • Communicate effectively with partners who may not fully understand the Supply chain Data details, complexity, and value creation potential.

  • Work with scope that may constantly change or evolve. Change management as a skill would be required.

  • Work under tight timelines and with challenging stakeholders.

  • Understand the operations and maintenance requirements for an oil and gas production or processing facility.

Key Experiences and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering

  • Minimum of 10 years’ of Project Management Experience. Certifications like PMP may be an advantage.

  • Well Knowledgeable of Supply chain processes

  • ERP ( SAP or equivalent) implement or upgrade lead for Oil and gas or equivalent industry

  • Plant Maintenance experience or oil and gas industry Project experience

  • Professional Project Management Certification is preferred but not required

  • Ability to translate process, data, and technology concepts into business terms.

  • Experience with management of data preparation and development for ERP system migration will be preferred

  • Track record of partnering with business leaders in a matrix organization, working virtually to deliver outcomes

  • Demonstrated commercial acumen and curiosity with ability to develop and deliver value

  • Strong results and achievement orientation, moving with speed in a fast-paced macro business environment

  • Able to effectively communicate at all levels of managements including senior management.
