Risk Management Solutions Delivery Portfolio is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of programs to develop and maintain Ernst & Young’s internal Risk Management systems. The team is geographically dispersed and comprises of all disciplines required to deliver IT solutions for our customers, including project managers, business analysts, software engineers, and quality assurance & testers. In addition, the function works closely with the Enterprise & Solution Architecture and Infrastructure & Operations teams. The opportunity

The Solutions Delivery Project Manager is responsible for delivering projects on both a large- and small-scale managing timeline, scope, budget and quality within Ernst & Young. The Project Manager may manage multiple projects at a given time, some may be interrelated parts of an overall program and some may be in support of differing business capabilities.

Your key responsibilities

• Building integrated solutions to deliver on the Risk Management roadmap.
• Implementing tools in support of Risk Management processes
• Successfully executing approved projects to agreed time, scope, budget and quality including developing objectives, phasing and content of the project to deliver on the business case benefits, budget and timescales
• Performing the project management processes - i.e. initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control and close, and the supporting processes e.g. scope, cost, time, issue, risk, resource, communication, stakeholder management ensuring that the required artifacts (e.g. project charter) are delivered and approved appropriately based upon EY’s CLEAR methodology
• Planning for, monitoring and managing change through formal change management processes and stakeholder/customer relationship management including reporting on variances to the approved project baseline and managing the approval or mitigation of these as appropriate
• Managing project work and resources to enable successful and timely completion of the project including performing gate reviews and quality assurance reviews with all aspects of IT organization and business sponsors
• Closing the project and formalizing acceptance of the project results ensuring that the benefits realization have been achieved or a formal plan is in place to manage these
• Coaching and mentoring both customers and project team members in delivery fundamentals and the benefits to successful delivery.
• Ensuring that quality project standards are met as prescribed by IT Services through the effective implementation or use of approved processes, methodologies and deliverables

Skills and attributes for success

• Proven track record of successful delivery of multiple global and/or regional projects with personal accountability for delivering to time and cost for large, complex projects that includes the use of supplier and off-shore resources
• Track record of customer focus and stakeholder management based on openness, trust, and delivering on promises
• Management skills to manage one or more large, complex global projects simultaneously
• Strong team working skills across matrixed client, supplier and geographically dispersed virtual teams
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills (includes negotiation)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills – must be able to communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing
• Leader in the use of IT methodologies, processes and standards for program/project management

To qualify for the role you must have

• Mastery of project management methodology, tools and templates (includes program/project planning, schedule development, scope management and cost management)
• Significant experience with Application Integration technologies, vendors and product
• Significant experience in managing to contract; ensuring clients and suppliers alike perform in accordance with original agreement
• IT background with experience across the systems development life cycle with experience in all project phases – plan, initiate, elaborate, design, build, test, implement
• Analytical skills and problem solving skills needed to manage multiple factors on a project simultaneously

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Project manager is expected to act independently to deliver projects to schedule, budget and scope
• Project manager leads teams consisting of cross functional, global, and virtual groups; supervises staff; assigns responsibility to members; monitors progress
• Identify potential points of contention for missed deliverables; creates and implements strategy to mitigate shortfalls in timeline and budget

What we look for

• A degree in Computer Science or a related discipline; or equivalent work experience
• 7+ years’ experience in project management delivering large multi-year, multi-million dollar programs
• Global Work experience in a professional services industry, preferred
