DESCRIPTION

Data Operations and Solutions Team (DOST), serves as a techno-functional team that drives data related projects and the overall data strategy for Finance. DOST owns and manages key Finance, Treasury and Risk data repositories support critical and regulatory processes across Finance, Treasury and Risk. The team also drives data solutions to ensure consistent use of authoritative sources of data, and implements effective governance and controls for management of data across the data supply chain. Lastly, the team represents Finance in Enterprise Data Governance initiatives and forums; provides oversight over data governance in Finance.

This role will work as Business and Data Analysts within DOST that will cover the following areas:

Data projects in Finance and Treasury (FP&A, Accounting and Regulatory Reporting) Data governance for Finance and Treasury Execution of key pillars of the Finance Data Strategy

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify, integrate and manage required internal and external resources to provide business solutions for complex issues and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Oversee the entire project life cycle of detailed project plans using an AGILE methodology with due diligence and analysis
  • Develop subject matter expertise on data structures and data flows in and out of the Finance Treasury Data Repository
  • Perform in-depth data analysis including building data-models and prototypes to understand complex customer requests
  • Master an understanding of the end-to-end application framework with a focus on customer needs and key business drivers
  • Interface directly with clients and project team members to understand the needs and objectives of the business
  • Experience in designing and working on large and complex enterprise data warehouse systems. Define and document system interface requirements for enterprise financial systems. Independently compile, analyze and interpret information related to complex business system processing
  • Create test cases for system testing to ensure the system processes meets all functional specification and requirements to ensure high quality delivery
  • Experience/understanding of business process re-engineering, data management and governance processes, data flows and relationships and maintain high quality data standards
  • Hands on experience building and designing SQL queries, proficiency with business Intelligence tools, building reports and dashboards to prototype data requirements

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst in a data-centric project environment; BS/BA Required.
  • Good Experience and Familiarity with Finance and Treasury products
  • Willing to take ownership and initiative, be accountable and proactive, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sound understanding of industry best practices/ methodologies; experience with relational structures, structured query language (SQL), data warehouse and reporting techniques
  • Experience with business intelligence tools and data visualization concepts (i.e. Spotfire, Cisco Information Server, Cognos or similar)
  • Strong analytic skills with the ability to gather, synthesize, and organize data to solve complex problems
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail, placing high value on accuracy; diligent about upholding control points and procedures in the Software development lifecycle
  • Intellectually curious with problem solving and analysis
  • Ability to quickly learn new BI tools and data sources
  • Comfortable with large volumes of data, understands data transformation, normalization, and data-modelling
  • Flexible - able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong analytic skills with the ability to gather, synthesize, and organize data to solve complex problems
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with business and systems personnel.
