The Polish Office for Foreigners has launched a new text message service to communicate more effectively with their customers.

From now on, foreigners whose administrative matters are handled by the Department for Legalisation of Stay at the Polish Office for Foreigners will be kept updated via text messages on the progress of their applications. The notifications will be sent to customers in order to confirm the registration of a submitted appeal or complaint as well as to inform them about any mailed correspondence and the final decision.

Text notifications are to be received only by those foreigners whose complaints or appeals are being processed by the Department for Legalization of Stay at the Office for Foreigners.

The new service may enhance remote communication between the office and foreign residents of Poland during the COVID-19 pandemic. Note that due to the high number of coronavirus cases, you need to schedule your appointment by email or telephone before visiting the Office for Foreigners in Warsaw and you are asked to stick to certain safety measures when in there (click here for more details). Also, bear in mind that most public servants in Poland will continue to work from home until at least December - customers are asked to use online services where possible.
